Why should you treat your dog to a linen dog bed? Isn’t that a bit too much of a good thing? The fact that man’s most loyal companions appreciate a comfortable place to lie down is evident from the fact that our four-legged friends are only too happy to take over the bed in the bedroom, if they are allowed to. Dogs appreciate a comfortable bed and are by no means evolutionarily designed to sleep on hard concrete floors. It also has nothing to do with toughening them up or the idea that dogs were once wolves and lived in the woods in wind, rain, and snow. Dogs have been companions to humans for thousands of years and are far more accustomed to their alpha animal, their owner, than to Canis lupus. Just as the alpha animal does night after night, ideally lying down in a bed covered with linen, the four-legged friend has no objection to lying down on linen. The advantages remain the same for both humans and animals. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The wonderful properties of linen are ideal for dogs. The most important factor here is the natural climate control provided by linen. Unlike humans, dogs have coats of varying thickness depending on their breed, which keep them warm. Dogs also have a slightly higher body temperature than humans, between 37.5 and 39 degrees Celsius. Puppies even have a temperature of 39.5 degrees. In an apartment heated to around 21 degrees for humans, this can be a little too warm for the animal. A dog blanket or dog bed made of linen has a slightly cooling effect. <\/p>

However, it must also be taken into account that temperatures are lowered at night in many homes. Whether they need a blanket depends on the breed, coat, size, and age of the animal. The smaller a dog is, the larger its surface area is in relation to its body, which means that small dog breeds cool down faster than large or medium-sized animals. This is accelerated by the fact that, unlike humans, dogs do not move during deep sleep. A linen blanket ensures that body temperature is maintained without heat build-up under the blanket. However, there is also a psychological aspect to blankets for dogs. They serve as a substitute for a den. The wolf has not completely disappeared from dogs. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Linen dog blankets and dog cushions also suit dogs’ tendency to sleep or rest much more than humans. While we two-legged creatures are usually content with around 8 hours of sleep per night, dogs sleep between 12 and 14 hours. Not all at once, but spread over 24 hours, that adds up to a lot. Puppies and older dogs even sleep up to 20 hours a day. <\/p>

Sleeping or resting is certainly the most important activity for a dog. Anyone who has ever watched a dog dreaming can perhaps imagine how important dreaming is for the animal. They twitch their paws and bark quietly. Who knows what dreamland the dog is currently exploring? As dog hair finds it difficult to get caught in linen fabric, it is also easy to clean with a vacuum cleaner brush. <\/p>

Linen should only be washed at 60 degrees. It is often said that blankets or pillowcases for dogs or cats should be washed at 90 degrees. However, there is no reason to do so. A healthy animal does not transmit viruses or bacteria that could endanger humans or the animal itself. The animal is a member of the family with the special characteristic of not arguing, being moody, or refusing to speak to you for the rest of its life. Instead, dogs have a sense of their human friend’s mood. You cannot pretend with a dog, and depending on the situation, it will comfort you or rejoice with you. <\/p>

One way to show your bond with your best friend is to match your bedding.
