“Crossing N\u00b056 Parts of the United States No 56” is an old Belgian map that leads the viewer through the American Southeast. And it does so with beautiful, faded colors. This map and an equally old travel guide were the inspiration for the new Libeco linen bedding<\/a> Summer Collection 2016. <\/p>

The names Libeco has chosen for this collection speak for themselves<\/p>

The Vineyard Stripe<\/strong>The Libeco Linen<\/a> bedding collection Vineyard Stripe was named after the dreamy location where the collections were photographed. The base color of the design is the off-white found inside an oyster (hence the name Oyster for this very typical Libeco color). It features fine satin stripes in the cool green of sage, a reference to and continuation of the design of the blue series from the Shelter Island collection. The pillows are simply sewn, without hemstitch or flange. The collection can be wonderfully combined with Santiago or Heritage. <\/p>

<\/p>

Memphis<\/strong>Memphis is a new Libeco linen bedding collection which, just like the successful Santiago line, is designed to create a truly relaxed atmosphere in the bedroom. It works perfectly on its own, but can also be excellently combined with The Vineyard Stripe. <\/p>

The Louisiana Stripe<\/strong>The new Louisiana Stripe bedspread with matching pillowcases is a real eye-catcher due to the soft but very individual desert color, which has a slight reddish tint and is simply stunning in combination with Oyster. The heavy weave of the Libeco linen bedding is a combination of satin and plain weave, which creates a unique grain in the fabric. The bedspread consists of two strips of fabric joined with a raw selvedge. The pillows have a zipper. The collection fits wonderfully with Santiago and Heritage. <\/p>

<\/p>

The Tennessee Stripe<\/strong>Food simply tastes better at a well-set table. The horizontal stripes in cool sage green of Tennessee Stripe on the off-white of Oyster are a premiere for Libeco collections. The fabric is woven in a heavy satin weave, very similar to the highly successful Serengeti collection. The edges are finished with a 2-centimeter wide hemstitch. Tennessee can be excellently combined with all collections that have Oyster as a base color. <\/p>

<\/p>

The Ellen Stripe<\/strong>This collection bears the name of the charming model who so enriched the photo session for Libeco’s Summer Collection 2016. The wide stripes of off-white Oyster have a background of cool sage green. The fabric of Ellen Stripe is made of a heavier and firmer material than our other runners, making it even more comfortable to walk or sit on. <\/p>

<\/p>

The Libeco Linen Manufactory<\/strong><\/p>

The Belgian linen manufactory Libeco Lagae was founded in 1858 by Paul Libeert as a small workshop for hand-woven fabrics. The region of Meulebeke (between Courtrai and Bruges) is traditionally an area where flax is grown, retted, and processed into linen. <\/p>

In 2008, Libeco celebrated its 150th anniversary. Now in the 5th generation, the descendants of Paul Libeert process flax into linen and produce bed and household linens from it. Libeco is at home in Belgium but committed to the world. Libeco’s wonderful products are highly valued throughout Europe and North America. The Libeert family sees it as their obligation to preserve the family tradition of linen processing and to help give this noble fabric more significance again throughout the world. The introduction of new, innovative linen products that provide inspiration and momentum to their customers is Libeco’s central concern and drive. The people at Libeco want to create things that inspire others; they want to create something simple and timeless in a world searching for true values. <\/p>
