Colored linen can be washed up to 60\u00b0, white up to 95\u00b0. As with all materials: washing at lower temperatures makes it last longer. Avoid detergents with optical brighteners \u2013 they bleach out the natural colors. Linen needs sufficient residual moisture to prevent excessive wrinkling. Don’t overfill the machine, don’t spin too vigorously. If you want to iron linen, use the hot temperature setting while it’s still slightly damp. Or: don’t iron at all.
