A cotton-linen blend combines the best of both worlds: linen\u2019s intelligence with cotton\u2019s softness. The linen content balances temperature\u2014cool in summer, warm in winter. The cotton content makes the fabric supple and cosy from the start. Our cotton-linen fabrics are made of equal parts linen and cotton: 50\/50. Not the EU minimum standard of 40%, but an honest half-and-half. <\/p>\n
Schlitzer Leinen has been weaving since 1933 in the Hessian town of Schlitz\u2014founded in the year of the World\u2019s Fair “A Century of Progress”. Colored linen can be washed up to 60\u00b0, white up to 95\u00b0. As with all materials: washing at lower temperatures makes it last longer. Avoid detergents with optical brighteners \u2013 they bleach out the natural colors. Linen needs sufficient residual moisture to prevent excessive wrinkling. Don’t overfill the machine, don’t spin too vigorously. If you want to iron linen, use the hot temperature setting while it’s still slightly damp. Or: don’t iron at all.
