Cygna, heavy white linen

With 240 g/m², Cygna is a heavy tablecloth. It lies smooth on the table and gathers into an elegant drape at its edges. The flax fibre is dense, so spills tend to bead on the surface rather than soak in at once. White linen also takes a wash at up to 95 degrees, which keeps it fresh through many dinners. Its yarn fineness is Nm 26, and the finish remains purely mechanical. Pair it with runners in white or in a muted shade, then complete the table with placemats and napkins. Cygna has its place in the Geniksa tablecloths collection, next to the coloured designs.

Care

White linen such as Cygna can go up to 95 degrees, whereas coloured linen stops at 60. Still, a gentler temperature lets any fabric last longer, so save the hottest cycle for stubborn cases. Optical brighteners do linen no favours, because they bleach out natural tones and wear on the fabric. Leave enough space in the machine for the tablecloth to move freely. Spin it with restraint and only briefly. Some residual moisture prevents heavy creasing. The iron, set hot to linen, glides best over a cloth that is still slightly damp.
