Description
“Adele Silk Bedding by Seidenweber”
Poppy blossoms, larger than in nature, woven into the fabric instead of printed. Adele works only with natural tones – the pattern is created solely by the interplay of matte and gloss in the silk weave. The Jacquard technique makes it possible: where the weft thread lies on top, the surface shimmers; where the warp thread dominates, it remains matte. A play of light, not a play of color. Modern in appearance, classic in execution.
Four finishing styles – one standard
Every Seidenweber bedding is available in four versions that differ in the type of finishing. Basic stands for simple, clean finishing without additional details. Classic adds a fine piping along the edges – a subtle feature that gives the cover contour. Elegance features a stitched standing seam that gives the fabric structure and presence. Superior represents the highest level: an inset standing seam that frames the bedding. The choice of finish does not change the fabric, but the way it presents itself.
Silk – the queen of fabrics
Silk is certainly one of the oldest textile fibers, yet it has never been as current and modern as it is today. The culture of silk has accompanied humanity for thousands of years, and this queen of fibers cannot be replaced by anything in modern times. There is the unique feel, the sense of well-being that silk creates on our skin. The organic structure of silk is almost uncannily similar to the structure of human skin. Silk lets the skin breathe, silk stimulates the receptors on our skin. That’s why it’s cool in summer and wonderfully warm in winter. And silk is a blessing – not only for people with neurodermatitis.
The weaving mill – the last of its kind
Silk has been woven in Plauen, Saxony, since the days of the Empire. Plauener Seidenweberei is one of the last fully integrated manufactories in Europe – and the last that truly masters the weaving of silk in Jacquard patterns. Floral ornaments, paisley designs, baroque structures: what is created here is woven, not printed. The difference lies in the depth. Woven patterns live with the light; they change, they have substance. Nearly a century of experience goes into every piece – knowledge passed from hand to hand and preserved within the weave itself. To touch Seidenweber bedding is to touch this history.

Care Instructions
Silk items should be washed separately, if possible inside out, on a delicate cycle without any additional load, at 30°C using recommended silk detergents such as Tenestar. Silk and silk blends are not suitable for tumble dryers or mangles. When drying outdoors, do not expose silk items to direct sunlight. Silk laundry can be ironed slightly damp at a maximum of 110°C.
– Please never spray silk with perfume or deodorant
– Please do not wash silk with bleach
– Please do not dampen silk with water when ironing
– Do not rub individual stains out with water; wash the entire item instead
– Please iron silk from the reverse side
– Please do not wring silk
Silk products can be hand-washed without damaging the silk. It is best to use a mild soap or a special silk shampoo such as Tenestar. Soak the silk in lukewarm water for approximately 3–5 minutes.
Wash dark or printed silk only briefly in a cold hand bath; please do not soak. It is recommended to only gently move the fabric back and forth during this time.
Remove the silk from the water after a maximum of 5 minutes. Rinse the silk with cold water and a teaspoon of wine vinegar to remove any soap residue. Then roll the silk in a dry towel to draw the remaining liquid out of the fabric. For dark or printed silk, you should use multiple layers of toweling. Afterwards, please lay the silk flat and gently pull the corners straight.
Silk should generally be ironed slightly damp and inside out. Do not iron silk too hot. Silk is an organic fabric, a protein compound—similar to our hair. Too much heat only causes damage.
