Description
“Elixir half-linen bed linen from Leitner Leinen”
Elixir – the term conjures up the mysterious, those enigmatic tinctures of the alchemists that seem to be distilled from mist and moonlight. This half-linen design carries precisely this mystical quality: an intricate abstract pattern covers the fabric like a misty veil that sometimes thickens, sometimes dissolves. Woven in dark threads, it creates a dark, twilight effect, as if your bedroom were in the half-shadow of a fairytale forest. In light tones, on the other hand, Elixir shines like a fresh morning mist over still waters. The design plays with light and shadow, with suggestion and concealment – a textile puzzle that never quite wants to be solved. The ten shades range from pure white and delicate pastel nuances to earthy stone tones and powerful anthracite. Restrained in its patterning and yet not to be underestimated in its effect, Elixir transforms your bedroom into a place of contemplation.
The advantages of half-linen
Half-linen combines the best of two fiber worlds in one fabric. The pure cotton warp provides stability and suppleness, while the pure linen weft ensures durability and that characteristic feel that makes quality tangible. This sophisticated construction creates bed linen that is convincing in all seasons: the linen content provides cooling freshness on warm days, while the cotton stores cozy warmth on cold nights. The fabric regulates moisture in a natural way – it absorbs it and wicks it away without feeling clammy. The antibacterial properties of linen also work in half-linen, while cotton reduces the typical linen creasing and simplifies care. Cotton can also be dyed more intensively, which gives the subtle color gradients of the Elixir design their special depth. Although the price of half-linen bed linen is significantly lower than that of pure linen, it is much more durable than pure cotton.
Manufacturing tradition since 1853
There are crafts that will last for generations due to their timeless significance. The linen weaving mill Leitner has been one of these enduring manufactories since 1853. In Ulrichsberg in Upper Austria, nestled in the rolling hills of the Mühlviertel, fabrics of exceptional quality have been woven for five generations. What began as a regional weaving mill has developed into an internationally recognized manufactory whose collections are presented at the most important textile trade fairs. But despite its worldwide recognition, Leitner has retained its manufactory character: production remains manageable, contact with customers is personal and the response to special requests is flexible. Custom-made products for unusual bed sizes are just as much a part of the company’s philosophy as expert advice. Each piece leaves the weaving mill with the claim to accompany generations.

Care of your half-linen bed linen
Half-linen bed linen rewards uncomplicated care with increasing softness. Colored linen can be washed at up to 60°, white at up to 95°. For normal use, 40-60° is perfectly adequate. Avoid detergents with optical brighteners, which would take away the linen’s natural depth of color. A certain amount of creasing is part of natural fibers and underlines their authenticity – with half-linen, however, it is much more moderate than with pure linen. For a smoother result, we recommend a drum that is not too full (maximum two thirds) and a maximum spin speed of 1000 revolutions. Half-linen is best ironed at a medium to high temperature as long as there is still residual moisture. Do not use a tumble dryer – gentle air drying preserves the fiber quality for decades.
