Francis linen-cotton mix from Libeco is inspired by the simplicity of industrial style. The designer says: “Simplicity – that could be the motto of the new winter collection. It brings us pure materials, an industrial style and a restrained color palette. It takes its name from Frans Tack, a flax farmer with heart and soul, who allowed us to put this collection in the right light. Frans Tack has worked with flax all his life. His farm is very close to our weaving mill, in the heart of the Flemish flax region. We were allowed to photograph this collection there, among the still existing flax rotting mills and warehouses.”

“In the Francis collection, different stripes, constructions and yarns are combined to form a large whole. The focus is on a plain weave in black and flax. On one side, this is complemented by fine stripes in the same colors, while the other side is completely flax-colored with a single black stripe. There are flax-colored fringes at both ends. The design of the Deco cushion cover is based on that of the plaid. The mini bag has the same plain weave in black and flax with two thin, flax-colored stripes on each side.”

European organic linen

Linen bed linen allows the skin to breathe better. When it comes to our skin, linen is the perfect fabric. Due to its long, smooth fibers, linen absorbs a lot of moisture and repels dirt. Linen is an intelligent fabric because linen balances out temperatures. Linen ensures a pleasant coolness in summer and creates cozy warmth in winter. The long linen fibers ensure that linen bed linen stays fresh for much longer. The linen fabric has been treated purely mechanically and is therefore very soft and skin-friendly. Linen treated in this way creases less and retains the naturalness and all the advantages of linen. Libeco is convinced of organic linen and unconditional sustainability in all stages of production, so the creation of certified linen bed linen according to the GOTS standard in the Heritage collection was a logical next step.

Care Instructions

Colored linen can be washed up to 60°, white up to 95°. As with all materials, linen will last longer if washed at a lower temperature. What linen does not tolerate are detergents with optical brighteners, they bleach out the natural colors and the fabric becomes light Wrinkling: Linen needs sufficient residual moisture so that it does not wrinkle so much. Do not overload the machine so that the fabric can move, do not spin linen too hard or for too long. If you want to iron linen, iron the garments on the hot setting of your iron when they are still a little damp. Even if it is convenient: avoid drying linen in the dryer. Overdrying can cause it to shrink.
