Description
“Foresta pure linen bed linen from Leitner Leinen”
Foresta – the forest as the ancient Romans saw it: not as a wilderness, but as a living space, permeated by light and shadow, structured by the silent growth over decades. In the forests of Central Europe, where beech trees form their silver-grey trunks into cathedrals, a pattern of vertical lines and horizontal interlacing emerges. This design captures this organic architecture: trunk structures strive upwards, branch forks branch out rhythmically, the play of light between the canopy and the forest floor creates an effect of depth. What the forest forms over centuries is shown here in the characteristic structure of the linen – the natural up and down of the fibers reinforces the illusion of grown layers. The pattern combines botanical precision with textile abstraction. Foresta transforms your bedroom into a tranquil forest space, where tranquillity does not mean emptiness, but the complex stillness of grown nature.
The benefits of European organic linen
Linen has accompanied mankind for thousands of years – a material that, like wood, has the ability to last for generations. The particularly long fibers of European flax give the fabric its legendary durability and natural softness. Linen breathes with the room: it adapts to its surroundings – cooling on warm summer nights, warming when the temperature drops. This organic intelligence is created by the hollow structure of the flax fiber, which forms air cushions and regulates moisture. Linen can absorb considerable amounts of moisture without feeling clammy – a property that is invaluable for restful sleep. The smooth, naturally antistatic fibers are particularly kind to the skin and develop a more pleasant suppleness with every wash. At the same time, the fabric remains surprisingly robust. Leitner only uses organic linen from certified European cultivation – sustainably cultivated and of unadulterated quality.
Craftsmanship since 1853
In Ulrichsberg in Upper Austria, where the wooded hills of the Mühlviertel border on Bohemia, lies the weaving mill Leitner. The craft of linen processing has been cultivated here since 1853 – over five generations, knowledge has accumulated like annual rings in wood. What began as a modest weaving room has grown into a manufactory that is recognized worldwide for its quality. Leitner is present at the most important textile trade fairs in Paris, Milan and New York. Its success is based on the synthesis of traditional skills and contemporary design. The company does not produce mass-produced items, but well thought-out collections in which craftsmanship and aesthetic standards intertwine – growing organically like a healthy forest. As a manufactory, Leitner can respond flexibly to individual wishes: Special sizes for unusual beds can be realized and personal advice is a matter of course. Every comforter cover and every pillowcase is made with the awareness that authentic quality should last – for many years to come.

Caring for your linen bedding
Linen bed linen is easy to care for and becomes more pleasant to the touch with every wash. Colored linen can withstand temperatures up to 60°, white bed linen up to 95°. For everyday use, 40-60° is perfectly adequate for optimum hygiene. Important: Do not use detergents with optical brighteners – these can impair the natural color depth of the linen. The characteristic slight creasing of linen is an expression of its naturalness and is part of the authentic material. For smoother results: Do not overfill the washing machine, reduce the spin cycle to 800-1000 revolutions. If desired, you can iron at the highest ironing setting, ideally with light residual moisture. Avoid the tumble dryer: air drying is gentler, preserves the fiber quality and significantly extends the life of your bed linen.
