Description
“Ada Silk Bed Sheet by Seidenweber”
Gold, piece-dyed, rich and warm. Behind this shade, orchid blossoms shimmer through, woven in jacquard. Ada pairs opulent colour with floral ornamentation—regal, without looking pompous. The design needs light to come alive: in daylight the blossoms appear more clearly; in artificial light the golden ground takes centre stage. A touch of splendour for those who know that beauty is not at odds with understatement.
Silk – the queen of fabrics
Silk is certainly one of the oldest textile fibres, yet it has never been as relevant and cutting-edge as it is today. The culture of silk has accompanied humankind for thousands of years, and this queen of fibres remains irreplaceable even in modern times. For one, there is its unique feel—the sense of wellbeing silk creates on your skin. The organic structure of silk is almost uncannily similar to the structure of human skin. Silk lets the skin breathe; silk stimulates the receptors in our skin. That is why it is cool in summer and wonderfully warm in winter. And silk is a blessing—not only for people with eczema.
The weaving mill – the last of its kind
Silk has been woven in Plauen, Saxony, since the days of the German Empire. The Plauen silk mill is one of the last fully integrated manufactories in Europe—and the last to truly master weaving silk in Jacquard patterns. Floral ornaments, paisley designs, baroque textures: what is created here is woven, not printed. The difference lies in the depth. Woven patterns live with the light; they change, they have substance. Nearly a century of experience goes into every piece—knowledge passed from hand to hand and preserved within the weave itself. When you touch Seidenweber bedding, you touch that history.

Care Instructions
Silk items should be washed separately, if possible inside out, on a delicate cycle without any additional load, at 30°C using recommended silk detergents such as Tenestar. Silk and silk blends are not suitable for tumble dryers or mangles. When drying outdoors, do not expose silk items to direct sunlight. Silk laundry can be ironed slightly damp at a maximum of 110°C.
– Please never spray silk with perfume or deodorant
– Please do not wash silk with bleach
– Please do not dampen silk with water when ironing
– Do not rub individual stains out with water; wash the entire item instead
– Please iron silk from the reverse side
– Please do not wring silk
Silk products can be cleaned by hand wash without damaging the silk. It is best to use a mild soap or a special silk shampoo such as Tenestar. Soak the silk in lukewarm water for about 3–5 minutes.
Wash dark silk or printed silk only briefly in a cold hand bath; please do not soak. During this time, it is recommended to move the fabric only gently back and forth.
Remove the silk from the water after a maximum of 5 minutes. Rinse the silk in cold water with a teaspoon of wine vinegar to remove any soap residue. Then roll the silk in a dry towel to draw the remaining moisture out of the fabric. For dark or printed silk, please use the towel in multiple layers. Then lay the silk flat and gently straighten the corners.
Silk should generally be ironed slightly damp and inside out. Do not iron silk too hot. Silk is an organic fabric, a protein compound—similar to our hair. Too much heat only causes damage.
