Description
“Arcadia pure linen bed linen from Leitner Leinen”
Arcadia – the mythical landscape in the heart of the Greek Peloponnese, which has been considered the epitome of the idyllic since ancient times. During the Renaissance, poets and painters rediscovered this region as a place of longing, as an alternative world to courtly ceremony. Shepherds graze their flocks in rolling hills, clear springs flow from the rock, ancient oaks provide shade. Here, it is not the strict order of the garden that prevails, but the serene harmony of grown nature. Et in Arcadia ego – “I too was in Arcadia” – has become a catchphrase for perfect moments. This design translates the Arcadian vision into textile form: Organic patterns reminiscent of leaves and tendrils combine to create a fabric that radiates tranquillity. The jacquard technique creates a subtle relief structure reminiscent of the play of light and shadow in dense foliage. Arcadia transforms your bedroom into a retreat where pastoral serenity meets textile care and every night becomes a return to timeless harmony.
The benefits of European organic linen
The choice of material is no minor matter with a design like Arcadia. Linen, cultivated in Europe since ancient times, embodies the naturalness that also characterizes the Arcadian ideal. The flax plant thrives in a temperate climate without artificial irrigation – a modest plant that impresses with its quality. The long fibers create a fabric that cools on warm nights and warms on cool nights. This natural temperature regulation is created by the hollow structure of the linen fiber, which forms air chambers and organically balances out moisture. Linen absorbs moisture without feeling clammy – essential for restful sleep. The fiber is naturally antistatic and kind to the skin, developing more suppleness with every wash without losing its texture. The resilience of the material is remarkable: linen bed linen can last for generations, becoming softer and softer in the process. Leitner only uses organic linen from certified European cultivation – grown according to ecological principles, mechanically treated for natural softness, free from chemical additives.
The Leitner weaving mill – a manufactory since 1853
In Ulrichsberg in Upper Austria, surrounded by the gently rolling hills of the Mühlviertel region, Leitner Leitner works according to principles that are close to the Arcadian ideal: no hustle and bustle, but established structures; no mass production, but meticulous craftsmanship. For over 170 years, the manufactory has combined traditional skills with contemporary design. The designs are created in a carefully thought-out process: designs are developed on the drawing board, tested in sample cards and refined until every detail is just right. With designs such as Arcadia, with their subtle structure, precision is essential – every thread interlacing contributes to the overall impression, light and shadow are created by minimal height differences in the fabric. The weaving mill combines manageable dimensions with state-of-the-art technology. No fast-moving collections are created here, but well thought-out designs that last. As a manufactory, Leitner can respond to individual wishes: Special sizes are possible and personal advice is a matter of course. Every comforter cover is manufactured with the awareness that true quality does not have to be loud – it is revealed in the quiet perfection of the detail.

Caring for your linen bedding
Linen bed linen becomes softer and more supple with every wash. Colored linen can withstand temperatures up to 60°, white bed linen up to 95°. For daily use, 40-60° is perfectly adequate and is gentle on the natural fibers. Important: Do not use detergents with optical brighteners – these can distort the natural color tones of the design. The characteristic crease structure of linen is an expression of its authenticity and is part of the material. For a smoother finish: do not overload the washing machine, limit the spin cycle to 800-1000 revolutions, shake the laundry out vigorously immediately after washing. If desired, you can iron at the highest ironing setting, ideally with light residual moisture. Do not use a tumble dryer: air drying is gentle on the fibers, preserves the structure of the fabric and extends the life of your bed linen by many years.
