Description
“Sea Island bed linen from Peter Reed”
Sea Island bed linen from Peter Reed. Feel like a queen in bed, like a king with bed linen from the traditional English weaving mill Peter Reed. The Caribbean climate produces cotton with an average fiber length of 50 mm. No other cotton can compete with this. At the same time, the fiber content in the plant is around 20% higher than in other cotton plants. Traditionally snow-white and with Peter Reed’s trademark embroidered cords. These cords were already part of Peter Reed bed linen when Queen Victoria still led the British Empire. Sea Island cotton with 600 threads per square inch (6.45 square centimeters)
The Weaving Mill
Since 1880, Peter Reed has been the supplier to the English royal family, as “Royal Warrant of Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen”. This title as a manufacturer of bed linen was impressively renewed in January 2008. This is an honor to be very proud of.
Peter Reed has been manufacturing in Lancashire since 1861 and is traditionally synonymous with English excellence and luxury. Peter Reed is one of the few factories to have been operating in the UK for over a century. The founder, Peter William Reed, was a farmer in Barley on the slopes of Pendle Hill in Lancashire (where the last known witches lived).

You can order two different cushion covers. Standard or Oxford.
Peter Reed ‘Oxford style’ cushion covers with a decorative flange are sewn throughout with traditional mitred corners. Their construction requires the assembly of three separate pieces of fabric and skillful sewing. The end result is a flange that rests on the corners when placed on the bed, unlike the usual Oxford construction which can create a “rabbit ear” effect.
The unrivaled long staple length, the fine combing of the cotton, the high thread count, the very special weaving of the edges result in an extremely soft but hard-wearing cloth. Generous hems, cord seams, double topstitching and safety stitching for durability. ‘Oxford style’ cushion covers sewn with traditional mitered corners throughout.
Care Instructions
Colored bed linen made of long-staple cotton can be washed up to 60°, white up to 95°. As with all materials, the same applies to long-staple cotton: it will last longer if washed at a lower temperature. What the material does not like are detergents with optical brighteners, they bleach the colors strongly and the fabric becomes light. Creasing: Long-staple cotton likes sufficient residual moisture. Do not pack the machine too full so that the fabric can move, do not spin the laundry too hard or for too long. If you want to iron it, iron the items on the cotton setting of your iron when they are still a little damp.
