Linen Placemats – Scandinavian Design
Placemats (also called place settings, table mats or placemats) made from linen are decorative coasters for each place setting at the table. They serve as a protective and decorative layer between the table (made of wood, glass, lacquered, etc.) and the dishes, cutlery and glasses.

Linen placemats prevent scratches from cutlery or plate bottoms, heat rings and discoloration from hot pots, pans or plates, water marks from cold glasses or condensation. Linen placemats are a central styling element and help to visually frame and structure each place setting. Likewise, a linen placemat dampens the clatter of dishes and cutlery and last but not least, linen placemats can catch small spills at table and dining before they reach the tabletop.
