Cygna linen tablecloths from Geniksa
Cygna linen placemats from Geniksa begin with white, the clearest of all colours for a table. Snow-white linen has long stood for freshness, and Cygna brings that idea into the dining room without fuss. The napkins and placemats share the same bright cloth. Geniksa adds its mark, an embroidered pine branch, as was once customary with good table linen. So the set feels both familiar and quietly exact, ready for a weekday lunch or a long evening.

White linen, woven by the Baltic Sea
Geniksa’s manner is spare, almost purist, and it grows from a love of nature: pure linen, as the mill sees it, needs no help beyond its presence and its feel. Cygna expresses that belief in its brightest form. The weavers on the Baltic coast work with flax from European cultivation and finish the cloth purely mechanically. Every fabric bears the Masters of Linen label, a guarantee of European manufacture and of strict testing. Eco Line and Oeko-Tex, in turn, confirm the absence of harmful substances and of any chemical treatment. Geniksa also produces CO₂-neutrally, which suits a white this clean.

Description

Cygna, white linen for placemats and napkins

Cygna comes to the table as placemats and napkins, sold in sets of six. Each piece consists of 100 per cent washed linen, 240 g/m² in weight and spun to Nm 26, so it feels noticeably substantial under plate and cutlery. The dense flax fibre lets stains go easily. White linen also tolerates hot washing, which keeps the colour clear. Two formats give you a choice: smaller mats for a breakfast table, larger ones for dinner. For a fully dressed table, Cygna combines with every Geniksa tablecloth. You will find it among the Geniksa placemats, each design in its own colour.

Care

White Cygna linen can go into the machine at up to 95 degrees, whereas coloured linen should stay at 60. Still, a gentler temperature adds to its life. Avoid any detergent with optical brighteners, because they bleach the natural tones of linen and make the weave look flat. A loosely filled drum lets the cloth turn freely. Spin only briefly and lightly, so enough moisture remains to prevent hard creases. Ironing works best on the hot linen setting, while the placemats are still a little damp.
