Fundamental Principles for Both Duvets

  1. Airing is essential: Hang the duvet over a chair or the edge of the bed daily for at least 15–30 minutes. Ideally with the window open. This allows moisture to escape and keeps the duvet fresh.
  2. Protect the duvet: Always use a cover (duvet casing). This protects against dirt and skin flakes and can be easily washed. The duvet itself then needs cleaning far less frequently.
  3. No scrunching: Give the duvet a thorough shake after airing. This loosens the filling and maintains its volume and loft.
  4. Beware of moths: Never store the duvet in airtight plastic bags. Use breathable linen bags or cotton pillowcases. Cedar wood moth strips or lavender sachets offer natural protection.
