Down Alaska Summer Duvet by HEFEL
The Alaska summer down duvet weighs almost nothing in the hand. HEFEL fills it with 90 per cent white goose down of class 1, only 74 grams per square metre. Such a featherlight filling warms softly, yet it never lets a July night turn close. Around the down lies a Soft Touch cotton cambric, smooth as velvet against bare skin. For many, Alaska marks the gentle way into the world of HEFEL down.

A light duvet, made by hand
In Austria, a family firm with several generations of experience behind it makes Alaska for the summer. The house regards it as its approachable down duvet for warm months. Nobody here produces in batches, since every Alaska duvet goes through the workshop alone and meets a careful inspection afterwards. Only then does it satisfy the standard HEFEL sets for itself. The BodyFit quilting traces the body, so no pocket of heat builds up beneath it. An 8 x 10 box system keeps the small cassettes even, which matters all the more when the filling stays this light. On a summer bed, Alaska thus brings a little of that Austrian workshop into the room.

Alaska, featherlight down for warm nights

With 680 CUIN, the down keeps a high loft while its weight stays low. NOMITE and RDS confirm suitability for allergy sufferers as well as free-range husbandry without live plucking. On warm nights Alaska cools, and the filling also balances moisture. The fine cover carries dampness away from the skin, so the sheets stay dry. Over the years the duvet keeps its form, and the light filling keeps its freshness too. Even when the evening air refuses to cool, Alaska lets you fall asleep with a fresh feeling. Care

A 40 degree wash cleans Alaska, then the tumble dryer brings back its lightness. Air it often, because fresh air keeps the down loose and lofty. NOMITE and RDS secure the origin of the down, so allergy sufferers can sleep under it too. When autumn comes, keep it somewhere airy rather than squeezed into a box. That way it keeps its freshness, and Alaska returns cool and ready for every summer that follows.
