Linen Rugs
A linen rug feels cool underfoot in summer and warm in winter — an effect that neither wool nor synthetic offers in this balance. Our rugs come from Libeco in Belgium and are available in up to five sizes: from the runner at 60x85 cm for the hallway to the living room rug at 240x300 cm.

Wool rugs are soft but retain heat — in summer, that can become uncomfortable. Synthetic is affordable but ages visibly and builds static charge. Linen combines advantages that other materials preclude:
Flax fibre is one of the most tear-resistant natural fibres — a linen rug does not wear through and still looks fresh after years. Instead, it develops a patina that underscores the character of the room.
Linen regulates temperature at floor level: barefoot-cool in summer, pleasantly warm in winter. And the fibre absorbs moisture without feeling damp — relevant near the bath or in the kitchen.
The weight of a Libeco linen rug ensures it lies flat on the floor without an anti-slip mat. The dense weave structure keeps dirt at the surface rather than pulling it deep — vacuuming is sufficient as daily care.
Libeco weaves rugs in colour tones inspired by the Flemish landscape: warm ochre and sand, deep brown, muted petrol, rust red and forest green. The mélange colours and the natural texture of the linen weave conceal minor everyday marks — a linen rug looks well-maintained even in a family household.
Available sizes depending on model: 60x85 cm (runner/mat), 80x130 cm, 140x200 cm, 170x240 cm and 240x300 cm. Not every design is available in all sizes — the exact selection can be found with the individual products.

A linen rug needs little attention. Vacuum regularly with a brush attachment to keep it clean. Blot spills immediately with an absorbent cloth — do not rub — and treat with lukewarm water and mild soap working from the outside in.
With intense sun exposure, linen can fade slightly over the years — many owners value this as a natural ageing process that gives the rug character. Those who wish to avoid it can rotate the rug occasionally.
For deep cleaning, a professional textile cleaner is recommended. Full care tips at Care & Durability.
Libeco also produces our linen bed linen, tablecloths, tea towels and towels — for those who want their living space furnished consistently in linen, one manufacturer provides everything. Further categories at Kitchen and Bath.
