Silk Loungewear – the Fabric in Which Relaxation Looks Best

Loungewear is what you wear when the day belongs to you — at home, over breakfast, on the sofa, in the hotel. Our silk loungewear comes from Seidenweber, the German manufacturer with roughly 100 years of experience processing mulberry silk. The same fabric that makes our silk bedding special is crafted here into garments that feel like a second bed sheet against the skin.

Why Silk as Loungewear?

Silk is the lightest and smoothest natural material there is. On the skin, it creates almost no friction — no chafing, no scratching, no static build-up. For sensitive skin, after showering or on warm nights, this is noticeably more comfortable than cotton or jersey.
Silk also regulates temperature directly on the body: cooling in warmth, slightly warming on cool mornings. Silk loungewear therefore works year-round — in summer as the only layer, in winter under a bathrobe.
The mulberry silk used by Seidenweber is woven in damask technique — the same process as for the bedding. The pattern is woven into the fabric, not printed on, and remains intact through hundreds of washes.

More Than at Home — Where Silk Loungewear Works

Mornings and evenings: The classic use. Over breakfast, while reading, after the bath. Silk falls softly and fluidly — even in an unpolished state, it looks well-groomed.
In the hotel and while travelling: Silk loungewear is light, folds compactly and barely wrinkles. In the suitcase, it takes up less space than a terry bathrobe and looks as if freshly put on upon arrival.
As a layer under a coat: A silk top under a wool coat regulates temperature and feels better on the skin than synthetic functional wear. Not visible, but noticeable.

Care and Related Categories

Silk loungewear at max 30 °C on the silk programme or by hand. Use silk detergent, no fabric softener. Do not spin, dry flat in the shade. Iron at low temperature on the reverse side. Or have it professionally cleaned. Full silk care tips at Care & Durability.
For those who want to extend the silk comfort into bed, our silk bedding is the matching addition — from the same manufacturer, in the same material. And for the moments when linen is the better choice — more robust, easier to care for, cooler — we recommend our linen bed linen. Further categories at Kitchen and Bath.
