Half-Linen Bedding

Linen-cotton bed linen – quality made from linen and cotton

Half-linen combines linen in the warp with cotton in the weft. Cooler than pure cotton, softer than pure linen from night one. From Hoffmann and Schlitzer Leinen. More than 50% linen by EU regulation. The stepping stone between cotton bed linen and linen bed linen.

For whom half-linen is right

Linen newcomers: Pure linen starts firm and needs 5–10 washes. Half-linen is soft from night one — the cotton in the weft cushions the initial firmness.
Cotton users who want more: If you love cotton bed linen but want better temperature regulation and faster drying, half-linen is the stepping stone.
As a bridge: Try half-linen and decide which direction to go — full linen or back to cotton.

Linen-cotton blend, linen or cotton – which fabric suits you best?

Hoffmann classic stripes and checks: Timeless, robust, uncomplicated. In white and natural. The linen that once graced hotels and manor houses — and looks just as good on your bed today. All duvet covers with traditional linen buttons, pillowcases with hemstitch.
Hoffmann damask: Pure linen damask in the warp, cotton in the weft. Jacquard patterns woven directly into the fabric — not printed. The subtle sheen changes with the light.
Schlitzer Leinen: Half-linen from the oldest linen weaving mill in Hesse, founded in 1576. Traditional patterns, German craftsmanship.
The exact availability varies by line and pattern. Damask designs are available in fewer sizes than the classic stripes.

Care and Related Categories

Half-linen bedding at 60 °C, white up to 95 °C. No fabric softener. Gets softer with every wash — faster than pure linen, because the cotton component breaks in more quickly. Care tips at Care & Durability.
Combine with a linen fitted sheet as a base and a linen bedspread from Geniksa or Libeco as a contrast to the heavier half-linen texture.
Besides half-linen pillowcases, you will also find pure linen pillowcases (cooler, more textured) and silk bedding from Seidenweber (minimal friction for skin and hair). All linen bed linen.
