Plain – the name says it all: no patterns, no ornaments, just the pure beauty of the fabric itself. Yet what appears simple at first glance reveals remarkable depth on closer inspection: the slightly coarser structure of this half-linen creates a rustically elegant surface with finely nuanced texture. The fabric possesses a haptic presence that invites touch – it feels authentic, of real material, of craftsmanship. This characterful plain quality combines rural robustness with urban sophistication. The visible weave structure underscores the naturalness of the half-linen and makes the blend of linen and cotton tangible. In the bedroom, this plain fabric unfolds its calming power: it brings tranquillity to the room without becoming dull, fits into any furnishing style and can be effortlessly combined. The fourteen colour shades form an exceptionally versatile palette – from pure white through delicate pastel nuances like sakura and marigold to bold tones like lago and anthracite. Manufactory tradition since 1853

Since 1853, the art of linen weaving has been cultivated in Ulrichsberg. What began as a local manufactory in the Upper Austrian Mühlviertel has developed over five generations into an internationally recognised weaving mill. The Leitner family has never lost touch with artisanal tradition: even today, people are placed above machines, quality above quantity. Leitner Leinen is renowned for its elaborate and intricate patterns, yet even in its plains, the full art of weaving is reflected. Leitner presents its collections at the most important textile fairs worldwide – yet the manufactory remains manageable and personal. The flexibility to respond to individual wishes, to produce custom sizes and to advise competently distinguishes Leitner to this day. Every piece is crafted with the aim of enduring not just a season, but generations. This attitude is reflected in the choice of materials, the workmanship and the dedication with which every fabric leaves the weaving mill.

The advantages of half-linen

Half-linen combines the properties of two natural fibers to create a harmonious fabric. The pure cotton warp provides elasticity and softness, while the pure linen weft guarantees robustness and durability. This sophisticated construction creates bed linen with exceptional climatic properties: The linen content has a cooling and refreshing effect on warm days, while the cotton retains pleasant warmth on cool nights. The fabric regulates moisture in a natural way – it absorbs it generously and wicks it away quickly without feeling clammy. The antibacterial properties of linen fibers are largely retained in the half-linen, while the cotton significantly reduces the characteristic linen creasing and simplifies care. A plain weave with a coarser structure brings out the natural texture of the fibers in a particularly authentic way – the texture speaks of craftsmanship and tradition. Much more attractive in price than pure linen, half-linen clearly outperforms pure cotton bed linen in terms of durability and longevity.

Care of your half-linen bed linen

Half-linen bed linen is easy to care for and becomes smoother with every wash. Colored linen can be washed at up to 60°, white at up to 95°. For normal use, 40-60° is sufficient. Avoid detergents with optical brighteners, which take away the linen’s natural depth of color. A certain amount of creasing is part of natural fibers and underlines their authenticity – with half-linen, however, it is much more moderate than with pure linen. For a smoother result, we recommend a drum that is not too full (maximum two thirds) and a maximum spin speed of 1000 revolutions. Half-linen is best ironed at a medium to high temperature as long as there is still residual moisture. Do not use a tumble dryer – gentle air drying preserves the fiber quality for decades.
