Pillows
A wrong pillow you feel in the neck come morning — the right one you don’t feel at all. All pillows at Linen Lounge are from Hefel in Vorarlberg: down pillows, wool pillows, cashmere and innovative fibre fills, entirely made in Austria. Hefel is the same manufacturer that produces our duvets and mattress toppers — duvet, pillow and topper can be combined as a coordinated sleep system.

Pillow height must match the sleep position so the cervical spine stays aligned:
Side sleepers (60–70% of all people): Need a high, firm pillow that bridges the gap between ear and mattress. The broader the shoulders, the higher the pillow. Hefel’s down pillows can be adjusted in height by shaking — the blend of down and feathers determines the ratio of softness to support.
Back sleepers: Medium height — the head should neither be pushed forward nor overextended backward. Wool pillows provide a stable, even surface here.
Stomach sleepers: Need a very flat pillow or none at all — a pillow that’s too high overextends the cervical spine. Hefel’s lightest down pillows work pressed flat for this position.
Down and feathers: The best warmth-to-weight ratio of all pillow fills. Down provides softness, feathers provide support. Loft power (cuin) determines quality — the higher, the better the recovery after compression. The Silver Down, Gold Down and Platinum Down series cover different quality levels.
Virgin wool: Firmer and heavier than down, with excellent moisture regulation. Wool absorbs perspiration without feeling damp — relevant for the head area, which sweats particularly heavily at night.
Cashmere: The lightest and warmest option. Hefel’s Cashmere de Luxe pillow combines 70% cashmere with 30% virgin wool.
Fair Trade wool: Hefel’s Fair Trade pillow contains sheep’s wool from certified smallholders in a cotton sateen cover — for those who consciously choose the supply chain alongside the material.
All pillows from Hefel are NOMITE-certified and therefore suitable for dust mite allergy sufferers. Most models are washable at 60 °C.
Genuine Craftsmanship
Crafted by people who have learned their trade over generations.
Sustainability
Material, production, people – genuine sustainability. Fabrics traceable to the Atlantic coast.
Durable
Linen bedding can be washed at low temperatures and becomes softer with each wash.
Breathable
Linen bedding keeps you pleasantly cool in summer and cozy warm in winter. Bedding for all seasons.
A down pillow reaches its full potential under a down duvet — same material, same sleep climate. Those using a TENCEL® all-season duvet pair it best with a wool or fibre pillow that regulates moisture similarly. And as a base, a Hefel mattress topper ensures the system works consistently from mattress to pillow.
The matching cover for your pillow can be found among our linen pillowcases — in 40x80, 65x65, 80x80 and more sizes. Combined with linen bed linen, you get a set where the linen regulates moisture and the Hefel pillow provides the support.
Care: Shake down pillows regularly — this maintains the loft and distributes the fill evenly. Wash at 60 °C with tennis balls in the dryer for re-lofting. Have wool pillows professionally cleaned or wash on gentle cycle at 30 °C. Full tips at Care & Durability.
Standard sizes: 40x80, 80x80 cm. Exact availability varies by series.
