Hefel down duvets come in four luxury grades — from Soft to Platinum — each recognisable by the colour of the decorative piping. The higher the grade, the greater the fill power and warmth-to-weight ratio. All Hefel down duvets are NOMITE certified, making them verifiably suitable for dust mite allergy sufferers. Overview: Hefel.
Categories
Soft Down (white piping): Duck down. The entry point to Hefel down — already noticeably finer than standard down duvets on the market. Light, soft, for those with lower warmth requirements.
Silver Down (silver piping): Goose down. The elevated standard. Higher fill power than duck down, warmer at the same weight. The best-selling Hefel down product.
Gold Down (gold piping): 100% Masurian goose down. Premium — the down is hand-selected, the fill power noticeably higher. For those who want the best without going to extremes.
Platinum Down (dark grey piping): The absolute pinnacle. Made with the finest Nm 170 cambric shell that Hefel weaves. Ultra-light, ultra-soft, the highest thermal performance in the range.
Beyond that: DeLuxe Down with a TENCEL Luxe shell, Opulence with a cashmere blend, and the legendary eiderdown duvet from Iceland — the rarest and most expensive down material in the world.
Every Hefel down duvet is RDS-certified (Responsible Down Standard): the down comes exclusively from humanely raised geese and ducks, traceable from the poultry farm to the finished product. No live plucking, no force-feeding.
NOMITE-certified: the dense cambric shell is suitable for dust mite allergy sufferers — mites cannot penetrate the fabric.
This combination — RDS for animal welfare, NOMITE for allergy sufferers, OEKO-TEX for freedom from harmful substances — makes Hefel down duvets the safest choice in the down segment.
Each of the four quality levels is available as a summer duvet, winter duvet and all-season duvet. The difference lies in the fill weight and the quilting — not in the down quality. If you choose Silver Down for summer, you sleep under the same down as in winter — just with a lighter fill.
Wash down duvets at 60 °C, tumble dry with tennis balls to restore loft. Air regularly — 15–30 minutes daily with the window open. Store in breathable linen or cotton bags, never in plastic. Tips at Care & Durability.
