Placemats, runners and napkins — the Arctica system

Placemats: Available in sets of 2 and 6 — an investment that covers the entire table uniformly. 38x50 cm, enough space for plate, cutlery and glass. On bare wood, the placemat defines the setting without hiding the table. The Scandinavian alternative to a tablecloth.

Table runners: Narrow, placed centrally — the axis of the table. Over a Geniksa tablecloth as a second layer, or alone on the wood. Geniksa’s runners in sets of 2 are ideal for long tables where a single runner falls short.

Napkins: Heavy linen that folds well and holds its crease. In sets of 6, matched to the placemats and runners of the same Arctica collection. Placed loosely beside the plate or in a ring — both work.

All three elements in the same natural tones, the same weight, the same hand feel. A system, not a patchwork.

Three ways to set the table

Minimalist: Just placemats on bare wood, with napkins. No runner, no tablecloth. The table speaks for itself, the placemats frame the settings. The purest option.

Layered: Geniksa tablecloth as the base, placemats on top to define each place, napkins as an accent. Two layers of the same material create depth without clutter.

With a colour accent: Geniksa table settings in Natural as a neutral base, topped with Leitner napkins in colour. Or the reverse: a coloured Geniksa tablecloth, Arctica napkins in Natural. The Nordic principle: calm as the foundation, one accent is enough.
