Cygna Buttons linen bedding by Geniksa stands for freshness in its clearest form: snow-white linen. White bedding has always meant cleanliness, and Cygna brings that idea into the bedroom without ceremony. At the closing edges, handmade buttons of coconut shell lend a little southern romance. No button matches the next exactly, since hands rather than machines shape each one. Bedded in white, one almost hears the sea.

White linen from the Baltic coast
Geniksa’s style owes its simplicity to a love of nature, and in white linen that simplicity becomes almost complete. Pure linen, the mill believes, persuades by presence and touch alone. Cygna Buttons tests that belief in the plainest colour of all, where every irregularity of the weave shows. The Masters of Linen label on each Geniksa fabric promises rigorous testing and manufacture only in Europe. Eco Line and Oeko-Tex Standard 100, in turn, confirm a cloth without harmful substances. Geniksa finishes mechanically, weaves on the Baltic coast and keeps its production carbon-neutral. The flax comes solely from European cultivation. Linen sheets and fitted sheets from the same mill make the natural partners beneath Cygna.

Cygna, white Buttons linen

White linen has one practical advantage over every coloured version: it tolerates hot washes up to 95 degrees. That makes Cygna Buttons especially suited to sensitive skin and to allergy sufferers. Compared with Cygna Classic, the buttons give the design a more relaxed, slightly playful air, while the fabric stays identical. Its long, smooth fibres absorb moisture and repel dirt, so it keeps fresh longer. Linen also evens out temperature, cool in summer and warm in winter. Geniksa finishes the 175 g/m² weave mechanically, so it feels soft and creases less. Cygna Buttons belongs to the Geniksa bed linen collection, where its sister Cygna Classic also appears.

Care

Being white, Cygna Buttons tolerates up to 95 degrees, while coloured linen stops at 60. Even so, a cooler wash lets any linen last longer. Skip optical brighteners all the same, since linen takes them badly. Leave space in the drum, then spin gently and briefly, so some residual moisture remains against creasing. Ironing works best at the linen setting, hot, with the cover still a touch damp. The coconut shell buttons come through the hot wash and keep their natural tone.
