Behind the unique range at Linen Lounge are the classic European mills—the only ones that meet our highest standards for long-standing partners and their quality. Naturally, we maintain personal contact with the manufacturers, most of which are still family-run businesses, and we regularly see for ourselves on site the care and expertise that go into production. Time and again, we are amazed at how innovatively traditional craftsmanship is evolving today. We are the only ones able to present such innovations—setting trends and benchmarks—exclusively to our customers, the result of many years of trusting collaboration with these renowned manufactories. This is where the spirit of linen lives.
Masters of linen weaving—this title reflects the pride of the family business. And rightly so: as purveyor to the Belgian royal family, Libeco has upheld the highest standards and a deep passion for quality for five generations. Premium linen products from the Home Collection lend almost any room a sophisticated ambience and underscore a confident sense of style. The “Belgian Linen” label is also a promise that each individual piece is woven in Belgium and made exclusively from European flax fibres. Alongside a love of this natural product comes deep respect for nature: since 2014, Libeco has been a CO2-neutral company that placed sustainability at the forefront early on. With this in mind, Libeco products are a true pleasure and an enrichment for any home—fully in the spirit of linen.
Baltic linen used to be a generic term—and the epitome of quality. A number of small mills have set themselves the goal of reclaiming this top position. Geniksa plays a pioneering role here, with nothing less than the ambition to offer the finest bed linen in the Baltics. Using traditional craftsmanship and innovative technology, the Lithuanian mill produces linen bed linen that combines elegance and comfort, and—with its characteristic Nordic purism—creates ample space for restful sleep. For this, only long-fibre flax from Lithuanian fields is used, spun into yarn in Lithuanian spinning mills before the premium bed linen is woven at the mill. Certified to Oeko-Tex and Euro Flax, each individual piece contributes to healthy sleep and a better quality of life in harmony with nature—fully in keeping with the spirit of linen.
Bedding plays a vital role in ensuring a good, restful night’s sleep, and the guiding principle is this: it all comes down to what’s inside. With Hefel bedding, you can be absolutely certain that the duvets and pillows meet the highest standards of quality and sustainability. To make the most of the specific properties of the materials and their interaction with the human body for optimal individual sleeping comfort, Hefel pioneers new approaches in production whilst also utilising natural materials that have been in use for centuries. With creativity, technical excellence and an uncompromising approach to materials and raw materials, Hefel is today one of the most successful and innovative bedding manufacturers and the only ticking mill in Europe. Its unique range includes summer duvets, winter duvets, all-season duvets, as well as pillows and mattress toppers of the highest quality. All products are manufactured exclusively at the family-run company’s two sites in Austria.
The epitome of a luxurious lifestyle: handcrafted bed linen from Peter Reed, the official purveyor to the British Royal Family. With every touch, it conveys comfort and elegance, tradition and a touch of royal luxury. As one of the world’s most renowned manufacturers, Peter Reed is committed to the highest quality: exclusively the finest long-staple, combed cotton from the Nile Delta, densely and finely woven in Italy into high-thread-count percale, and handcrafted in England into premium bed linen. Woven edges, generous hems and classic corded seams are further thoughtful details that distinguish Peter Reed’s exquisite bed linen and make it so unique. The question is: is Peter Reed’s bed linen the best in the world? Hardly anyone would deny it.
In one of Germany’s last mechanical linen mills, cutting-edge technologies come together with traditional craftsmanship. The company’s eventful history in Neukirch/Lausitz dates back to 1905. Linen products of outstanding quality have always been at the heart of it. Today, these include exclusive bed and table linen, the legendary sauna towels, as well as bath and kitchen towels. Only long-fibre flax from Northern Europe is used. The commitment to preserving the cultural heritage of linen weaving is matched by a sustainability ethos throughout the entire processing of this precious natural product. At the same time, a sense for future needs is reflected in the innovative designs and current collections.
If it were only about tradition, Vieböck, as the oldest mill in the Mühlviertel region, would win hands down—after all, linen has been woven here since 1832. Yet by modern standards, too, the Austrian company has reached the top: it is the world’s only linen mill with the organic quality seals GOTS and IVN Best. Vieböck demonstrates how traditional craftsmanship can be developed in a thoroughly modern way—and how success goes hand in hand with the highest ecological and socially responsible standards. This is, of course, also reflected in the product range: alongside the traditional Mühlviertel pattern, there are long-established designs that complement a modern lifestyle. Linen fibres from European flax fields in France, Belgium or the Netherlands form the basis for the premium bed linen. Weaving and sewing are carried out exclusively at Vieböck in Helfenberg—fully in the spirit of linen.
When creativity and tradition come together in the Mühltal valley in a truly unique way, it can only be the Leitner linen mill, run as a family business in Ulrichsberg since 1853. For six generations, everything here has revolved around the fascinating natural material linen and its special properties, whose distinctive magic is expressed in the yarns and textiles. In Leitner’s unmistakable jacquard linen fabrics, aesthetics and sustainability are woven together. As a home for living tradition, the manufactory meets the highest standards with its classics and design treasures. Yet Leitner always goes one step further: with new interpretations, modern colours and a love of detail, classic craftsmanship unfolds an unexpected power and paves the way for exciting bed linen, table linen, decorative cushions and much more for an innovative interior—fully in the spirit of linen.
