Description

“Ajaccio – Pure Linen for the Kitchen by Libeco”

Ajaccio – Pure Linen for the Kitchen by Libeco – quite cool with an understated look… The designer says: “A central stripe in delicate colours on an eggshell-coloured towel. Ajaccio is perfect for streak-free and lint-free drying of glasses, ideal for your kitchen or as a gift!”

Kitchen towels made from organic linen

Known as “pit towels” (Grubentuecher), kitchen towels made from linen or half-linen have had a remarkable career in German gastronomy. But first they were an integral part of every miner’s equipment. Today, more and more households feature kitchen towels made from organic linen. They simply impress with their properties: dirt-repellent, quick-drying, hypoallergenic and antibacterial. Whether in the classic small check pattern in black-and-white or blue-and-white, or in the typical muted solid linen colours – kitchen towels made from organic linen are reliable and long-lasting helpers in every kitchen. Among their many advantages is of course their environmental friendliness and sustainability. Organic flax cultivation takes place entirely without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilisers. The strong and very dense flax fibre makes kitchen towels from organic linen exceptionally durable kitchen helpers that only become more beautiful over time. We guarantee this through the GOTS standard, which certifies our kitchen towels from European organic linen.

The Weaving Mill

Libeco received the accolade of the Belgian Royal House in 2006: “Belgian Royal Warrant Holder” is the impressive recognition of the quality of these textiles. The “Belgian Linen” quality seal guarantees a quality product made according to all the rules of sustainable business. All fabrics by Libeco carry the coveted “Masters of Linen” label. This guarantees that the fabrics have been tested to the extremely high standards of this master class and that they are manufactured exclusively in Europe. “Eco Line” and “Oeko-Tex” provide the assurance that Libeco fabrics are free from harmful substances and have not been chemically treated, bleached or dyed.

Care Instructions

Coloured linen can be washed at up to 60°C, white at up to 95°C. As with all materials, the same applies to linen: washing at lower temperatures extends its life. What linen cannot tolerate are detergents with optical brighteners – they bleach out the natural colours significantly and the fabric becomes pale. Creasing: linen needs sufficient residual moisture so that it does not crease too much. Do not overload the machine so that the fabric can move freely, and do not spin linen laundry too hard or too long. If you wish to iron linen, iron the pieces on the hot linen setting of your iron while they are still slightly damp. Even though it may be convenient: avoid drying linen in the tumble dryer. Over-drying can cause shrinkage.
