Wäsche aus den baltischen Staaten

Linen from the Baltic States is a classic!

Is it appropriate to discuss bedding in times like these? Our friends and colleagues from Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia believe it is. They believe that now is precisely the time to do so. Especially when their neighbor attempts to impose his will on them, they refuse to be intimidated. It is precisely then that they refuse to be dissuaded from their path. Our friends and partners in Vilnius, Riga, and Tallinn are deeply concerned, yes, but they are also determined.

Linen clothing has a long and distinguished tradition in the Baltic region. Before World War II, Baltic linen was as well known as Meissen porcelain or Pilsner beer. In 1945, this tradition disappeared behind the Iron Curtain. But in recent years, this tradition has been revived. Flax is once again being cultivated in the ideal climatic conditions of the Baltic Sea region, and spinning mills are processing it into some of the best quality linen in the world. Young weavers and designers are drawing on the great traditions of craftsmanship and developing them into exciting new products. Products that can easily compete with their best counterparts from Flanders, Germany, and Austria.

How often should you wash linen bed linen?

The question sounds simple. The standard answer — once a week, say dermatologists and hygiene guides — comes from a world where bed linen means cotton. Different rules apply to linen.
