Linen from the Baltic states

Linen from the Baltic States is a classic!

Is it appropriate to talk about bed linen at a time like this? Our friends and colleagues from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia say: yes! They say: now more than ever! Especially when their neighbour seems intent on imposing his will on them, they refuse to be intimidated. It is precisely then that they refuse to be deterred from their path. Our friends and partners in Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn are very concerned, yes, but they are also stubborn.

Linen clothing has a long and distinguished tradition in the Baltic region. Before World War II, Baltic linen was as well known as Meissen porcelain or Pilsner beer. In 1945, this tradition disappeared behind the Iron Curtain. But in recent years, this tradition has been revived. Flax is once again being cultivated in the ideal climatic conditions of the Baltic Sea region, and spinning mills are processing it into some of the best quality linen in the world. Young weavers and designers are drawing on the great traditions of craftsmanship and developing them into exciting new products. Products that can easily compete with their best counterparts from Flanders, Germany, and Austria.
