Classic white pure linen bed linen by Hoffmann
Hoffmann’s classic white pure linen bed linen features a calm, light white that brings a sense of order to a bedroom rather than merely decorating it. The fabric is a fine, pure linen weighing 180 g/m². It is lighter than Hoffmann’s heavier quality, making it softer against the skin. Linen stays cool because the long flax fibres absorb and release moisture. This makes the bed linen particularly comfortable on warm nights. It arrives pre-washed and is soft from the very first night. With every subsequent wash, it becomes even softer.

Weaving in Upper Lusatia
In Upper Lusatia, the region between Saxony, Bohemia and Silesia, flax has been cultivated for centuries. The Hoffmann linen mill has been weaving here since 1905. Even back then, its reputation extended far beyond the region. For the company’s fine fabrics travelled far and wide. They found their way into the cabins of grand ocean liners and the suites of the finest hotels, right up to the Adlon. Today, Hoffmann is one of the few German weaving mills that still carries out this work in-house. The fine white pure linen bed linen is exactly in this vein: understated, durable, without any fashion-driven frills. The flax is grown in Europe, and the production bears the Masters of Linen label. The weaving is climate-neutral. So when you unfold this piece, you are holding a piece of Saxon weaving tradition in your hands.

Description

Fine pure linen, as woven by Hoffmann

This fabric is pure linen, with no other fibres mixed in. Weighing 180 g/m², it is one of our finest fabrics. This is precisely what gives it that soft, flowing drape that drapes gently over your shoulders. Linen regulates the climate in bed, as the fibres wick away heat and absorb moisture without feeling damp. That is why the white linen bed linen remains comfortable on both hot and cool nights. The fabric has been washed using a purely mechanical process. As a result, it feels smooth against the skin right from the start and softens slightly with every wash. A slight crease remains, as this is a characteristic of linen and is not a flaw, but part of its nature.

The product

Available as a duvet cover and pillowcase, both made to measure by Hoffmann. 100% pre-washed pure linen, 180 g/m², in pure white. Fastened in the traditional style with twisted buttons. Masters of Linen quality made from European flax, woven in Upper Lusatia with a carbon-neutral footprint. The listed sizes are made to order; the company produces custom sizes on request.

Care Instructions

White pure linen can withstand high temperatures and can be washed at up to 95 degrees without damage. Nevertheless, it will last longer if you wash it at a lower temperature. This is because every hot wash reduces the fibres’ lifespan slightly. Avoid using detergents containing optical brighteners, as these damage the natural colour. Spin gently, as linen needs to retain some moisture to prevent it from creasing badly later on. It is best to avoid the tumble dryer, as over-drying can cause the linen to shrink. If you wish to iron, do so on the hot linen setting whilst the laundry is still slightly damp. Those who choose not to iron will simply have to live with the gentle creases. They are as much a part of this white linen bed linen from Hoffmann as the fabric itself.
