Description

“Gypsum – Pure Linen for the Table by Libeco”

Gypsum – Pure Linen for the Table by Libeco. The designer says: “This is our classic striped table linen collection in a modern twill weave. This time with sage green, old rose and black stripes running through the centre and along the sides of the tablecloth on an ecru base. This collection combines beautifully with almost all Libeco table designs.”

Tablecloths made from European organic linen

Linen tablecloths complement any dinnerware and table decoration with their unique appearance, whether the table is set for 2 or 20 guests. For a festive table, tablecloths made from linen are the first choice. The heavy fabric lies flat on the table surface and displays an extremely elegant drape at the sides. Tablecloths and table runners made from linen combine beautifully in muted colours or naturally in classic white. Linen tablecloths are quite resistant to stains. The smooth and dense fibre repels dirt and is easy to clean. The purely mechanically treated fabric for tablecloths and table runners made from European organic linen has a very pleasant hand feel and at the same time impresses with its absolute sustainability, certified by the GOTS standard. Napkins made from organic linen complete the perfect setting for a festive or everyday table.

The Weaving Mill

Libeco received the accolade of the Belgian Royal House in 2006: “Belgian Royal Warrant Holder” is the impressive recognition of the quality of these textiles. The “Belgian Linen” quality seal guarantees a quality product made according to all the rules of sustainable business. All fabrics by Libeco carry the coveted “Masters of Linen” label. This guarantees that the fabrics have been tested to the extremely high standards of this master class and that they are manufactured exclusively in Europe. “Eco Line” and “Oeko-Tex” provide the assurance that Libeco fabrics are free from harmful substances and have not been chemically treated, bleached or dyed.

Care Instructions

Coloured linen can be washed at up to 60°C, white at up to 95°C. As with all materials, the same applies to linen: washing at lower temperatures extends its life. What linen cannot tolerate are detergents with optical brighteners – they bleach out the natural colours significantly and the fabric becomes pale. Creasing: linen needs sufficient residual moisture so that it does not crease too much. Do not overload the machine so that the fabric can move freely, and do not spin linen laundry too hard or too long. If you wish to iron linen, iron the pieces on the hot linen setting of your iron. Best when they are still slightly damp. Even though it may be convenient: avoid drying linen in the tumble dryer. Over-drying can cause shrinkage.
