Description

“Olympia – Pure Linen Towel by Libeco”

Olympia – Pure Linen Towel by Libeco – quite cool with an understated look… The designer says: “I am quite proud of our Olympia – a classic striped towel collection in a simple yet summery design. It features all-over stripes (in navy blue, old rose, mustard and sand white) on a Nairobi-bronze base.”

Towels made from organic linen

Organic linen redefines the concept of a towel. Instead of the usual cotton, organic linen brings a fabric with special properties for towels. Organic linen is lighter than cotton of equal strength. Yet towels made from organic linen are just as absorbent and dry more quickly. The dense flax fibres simply channel moisture through. They also possess hypoallergenic, antiseptic and hygroscopic properties. The resilient linen fibre is also very long-lasting and abrasion-resistant, whether at the beach, in the sauna, on travels or at the gym. Not to forget the environmentally friendly and sustainable production of towels from organic linen, certified by the GOTS standard. Organic linen becomes softer and more supple with each wash. Towels made from organic linen-cotton blends are also very popular. They combine the best of both fabrics in one. Whether towels made from pure European organic linen or towels from linen-cotton blends, they impress with their material properties as well as their style and elegance.

The Weaving Mill

Libeco received the accolade of the Belgian Royal House in 2006: “Belgian Royal Warrant Holder” is the impressive recognition of the quality of these textiles. The “Belgian Linen” quality seal guarantees a quality product made according to all the rules of sustainable business. All fabrics by Libeco carry the coveted “Masters of Linen” label. This guarantees that the fabrics have been tested to the extremely high standards of this master class and that they are manufactured exclusively in Europe. “Eco Line” and “Oeko-Tex” provide the assurance that Libeco fabrics are free from harmful substances and have not been chemically treated, bleached or dyed.

Care Instructions

Coloured linen can be washed at up to 60°C, white at up to 95°C. As with all materials, the same applies to linen: washing at lower temperatures extends its life. What linen cannot tolerate are detergents with optical brighteners – they bleach out the natural colours significantly and the fabric becomes pale. Creasing: linen needs sufficient residual moisture so that it does not crease too much. Do not overload the machine so that the fabric can move freely, and do not spin linen laundry too hard or too long. If you wish to iron linen, iron the pieces on the hot linen setting of your iron while they are still slightly damp. Even though it may be convenient: avoid drying linen in the tumble dryer. Over-drying can cause shrinkage.
