Rowan, a pure linen check

Rowan is 100 per cent linen in a plain linen weave, spun from yarn of Nm 58. Its hand feels dense and substantial. The palette leans towards autumn, so the bedspread links bedroom and living room, much as a cushion cover does on the sofa. Linen also regulates temperature and grows livelier with use. Because Libeco finishes the fabric purely mechanically, it feels pleasant against the skin and creases less. Production is carbon-neutral. The sienna brown ground keeps the check warm rather than formal, and the houndstooth stripe adds a quiet British accent. Rowan appears within the Libeco bed linen collection.

Care

As a coloured linen, Rowan tolerates up to 60 degrees; only white linen goes as high as 95. Lower heat, however, spares the check and lengthens its life. Never use a detergent containing optical brighteners, since they would bleach the sienna and green. A heavy bedspread needs room in the drum. Afterwards spin it slowly and briefly, so residual moisture limits creasing. For ironing, choose a hot setting and start while the linen is still slightly damp. Skip the tumble dryer, because over-drying may shrink the cloth.
