A festive table is characterised by elegance and style, and linen is the perfect choice for any occasion. The tablecloths, napkins and table runners from the Hoffmann linen mill are made from extra-fine linen weighing 195 grams per square metre. Linen table linen from the Hoffmann linen mill once adorned the dining rooms and first-class cabins of the Lusitania and the Titanic, as well as the guest rooms and suites of the Adlon and the Ritz. This linen is of a quality that is practically impossible to find nowadays. Whilst the general trend is towards ever finer and thinner yarns, Hoffmann uses a yarn thickness reminiscent of the finest trousseau textiles our grandmothers knew. Anyone lucky enough to have inherited such items knows just how long this quality lasts.

The Weaving Mill
Linen table linen from the Hoffmann linen weaving mill has already adorned the dining rooms and luxury cabins of the large ocean liners Queen Mary and Andrea Doria, the dining rooms and suites of the Waldorf Astoria and the Atlantic. Flax has been grown in Upper Lusatia, the triangle of land between Saxony, Bohemia and Silesia, for centuries. It has been used to produce all kinds of linen, from coarse sacking to the finest linen damask. Today, the Hoffmann linen weaving mill is one of the few German weaving mills still in operation, which cultivates old craftsmanship and makes quality its top priority.

The linen table linen from the Hoffmann linen weaving mill has graced the dining halls and first-class cabins of the Lusitania and the Titanic, the guest rooms and suites of the Adlon and the Ritz. This linen has a quality that is practically impossible to find today. While the general trend moves towards ever finer and thinner yarns, Hoffmann works with a yarn thickness that our grandmothers knew from the finest trousseau textiles. Tablecloths made from European organic linen

Linen tablecloths enhance any tableware and table decoration with their unique appearance, whether for a table set for two or for twenty. For a festive table, linen tablecloths are the first choice. The heavy fabric lies flat on the table surface and displays an extremely elegant drape at the sides. Linen tablecloths and runners combine beautifully in muted colours or, of course, in classic white. Linen tablecloths are quite resistant to stains. The smooth, dense fibre repels dirt and is easy to clean. The purely mechanically treated fabric for tablecloths and runners made from European organic linen has a very pleasant feel and is equally convincing in its absolute sustainability, certified to the Oeko-Tex Standard 100. Napkins and runners made from organic linen complete the perfect setting for a festive or everyday table.

Care Instructions

Coloured linen can be washed at up to 60°C, white linen at up to 95°C. As with all materials, washing at lower temperatures makes it last longer. What linen does not tolerate are detergents with optical brighteners – they bleach out the natural colours and the fabric becomes pale.
Linen needs sufficient residual moisture so that it does not crease. Do not overfill the machine so that the fabric can move freely, and do not spin linen too hard or for too long. If you wish to iron linen, iron the items on the hot linen setting of your iron, ideally while they are still slightly damp.
