Description
“Watercolor half-linen table linen from Leitner Leinen”
Watercolor – the term conjures up that fleeting art in which colors melt in water and unite to form unexpected compositions. It is precisely this painterly quality that characterizes this half-linen design: floral and geometric shapes merge playfully into one another, as if an artist had applied them to damp paper with a broad brush. The contours are deliberately blurred, colors merge, shapes dissolve and re-emerge. Watercolor unfolds its artistic lightness at the table: it transforms every table into a canvas on which dishes and food come together to form a complete work of art. The design harmonizes with purist white porcelain as well as with colourful ceramics, creating a dialogue between order and playful freedom. The nine shades range from pure white and delicate pastel nuances to earthy stone tones and powerful anthracite. Watercolor transforms the table into an impressionistic still life.
The benefits of half-linen for the table
Half-linen combines the qualities of two fine fibers to create an ideal table linen fabric. The pure cotton warp gives the fabric suppleness when draping and laying, while the pure linen weft provides strength and that elegant drape that enhances tables. This combination proves its worth in everyday use: the linen content makes the fabric naturally dirt-repellent – liquids roll off first and give it time to react. At the same time, the fabric regulates moisture without feeling clammy. The cotton significantly reduces the characteristic crinkling of linen and gives the table linen the relaxed drape that characterizes modern dining culture. In addition, the improved dyeability of cotton enables the watercolor-like color gradients that give the design its name. The protective linen structure increases abrasion resistance – half-linen table linen can withstand frequent washing without losing its beauty.
Manufacturing tradition since 1853
The art of linen weaving has been cultivated in Ulrichsberg since 1853. What began as a local manufactory in the Upper Austrian Mühlviertel region has developed over five generations into an internationally recognized weaving mill. The Leitner family Leitner family family has never lost touch with traditional craftsmanship: Even today, people are still placed above machines, quality above quantity. Leitner presents its collections at the most important textile trade fairs worldwide – but the manufactory remains manageable and personal. The flexibility to respond to individual wishes, to produce special sizes and to provide expert advice still characterizes Leitner today. Each piece is manufactured with the aim of lasting for generations.

Care of your half-linen table linen
Half-linen table linen is easy to care for and becomes smoother over time. Colored linen can withstand up to 60°, white up to 95°. In everyday use, 40-60° is sufficient for perfect cleanliness. Rinse out fresh stains with cold water before washing. Avoid detergents with optical brighteners. The natural creasing gives the table an authentic charm – much more moderate with half-linen than with pure linen. For smoother results: Fill the drum to a maximum of two thirds full, spin at a maximum of 1000 revolutions. Iron at a medium to high temperature with residual moisture. Air drying preserves the fiber quality for decades.
