The Weaving Mill

Linen table linen from the Hoffmann linen weaving mill has already adorned the dining rooms and luxury cabins of the large ocean liners Queen Mary and Andrea Doria, the dining rooms and suites of the Waldorf Astoria and the Atlantic. Flax has been grown in Upper Lusatia, the triangle of land between Saxony, Bohemia and Silesia, for centuries. It has been used to produce all kinds of linen, from coarse sack cloth to the finest linen damask. Today, the Hoffmann linen weaving mill is one of the few German weaving mills still in operation that maintains the old craftsmanship and makes quality its top priority.

Care Instructions

Colored linen can be washed up to 60°, white up to 95°. As with all materials, linen will last longer if washed at a lower temperature. What linen does not tolerate are detergents with optical brighteners, they bleach out the natural colors and the fabric becomes light.
Linen needs sufficient residual moisture so that it does not crease. Do not overload the machine so that the fabric can move, do not spin linen too hard or for too long. If you want to iron linen, iron the items on the hot linen temperature setting of your iron when they are still a little damp.
