Single bed 90x200 cm: The duvet falls approximately 22 cm over each side — the classic, tidy look. This is the standard combination in German households and the configuration most hotels use for single rooms.
Single bed 100–120x200 cm: Less overhang, but body-close. Ideal for sleepers who like to wrap the duvet tightly around themselves. On a 120 cm bed, a 135 cm duvet barely overhangs — those who want a more generous fall should consider 155x220.
Double bed 140–160x200 cm (as a pair set): Two 135x200 duvets side by side — each person gets their own duvet with their own sleep climate. On a 140 cm bed, the duvets overlap slightly in the middle. This pair set solution is the most popular double bed configuration in Germany: individual temperature regulation, no nightly tug-of-war.
