What's inside a Vieböck duvet cover — and what isn't

Inside: European organic flax, grown without synthetic pesticides or artificial fertilisers. Spun and woven in Austria. Dyed with GOTS-approved colourants or left undyed in natural white. Finished in Helfenberg — cutting, sewing, final inspection.

Not inside: Chlorine bleach, synthetic softeners, optical brighteners, formaldehyde, pesticide residues. IVN Best tests the finished product for over 100 harmful substances — stricter than any other textile certification.

For people with skin conditions, chemical sensitivities or eczema, this is not a matter of comfort but of health. Vieböck bedding is the safest choice in our entire collection — not because we claim it, but because two independent certification bodies confirm it.

Hand feel and character

Vieböck linen feels different from Libeco or Geniksa. No stonewash process, no artificial softening — the fabric arrives as it comes off the loom. That means: slightly firmer in the first few weeks, with more grip and the full linen character. After five to ten washes, the fabric becomes supple without losing its structure.

For those seeking immediate softness, Libeco Stonewashed or Vieböck’s herringbone line is the better choice — the twill weave is naturally softer than plain weave. For those who appreciate the classic, unadulterated linen hand feel, the organic linen bedding is exactly right.
