Half-Linen – The Best of Both Worlds

Half-linen combines the best of both worlds: the intelligence of linen with the softness of cotton. The linen content ensures temperature balance – cool in summer, warm in winter. The cotton content makes the fabric supple and cozy from the start. Our half-linen fabrics consist of equal parts linen and cotton: 50/50. Not the EU minimum standard of 40 percent, but an honest half-and-half.

The Weaving Mill

Schlitzer Leinen has been weaving since 1933 in the Hessian town of Schlitz – founded in the year of the World’s Fair “A Century of Progress”. Today the last true linen weaving mill on site, family-run in the third generation. European flax, German craftsmanship, every bolt of fabric individually inspected. Masters of Linen quality. Made in Europe, from start to finish.

Care Instructions

Coloured linen can be washed up to 60°C, white up to 95°C. As with all materials: washing at lower temperatures makes it last longer. Avoid detergents with optical brighteners—they bleach out natural colours. Linen needs sufficient residual moisture so it does not wrinkle heavily. Do not overfill the machine and do not spin too hard. If you want to iron linen, use the hot setting while it is still slightly damp. Or: not at all. The natural crinkle look is part of linen.
