Jungle Linen Tablecloth by Geniksa
The Jungle linen tablecloth from Geniksa is a cloth with character. Its colour, a deep and rich brown, brings out the structure of the flax fibre with unusual clarity. Every thread seems to show its own course. Only classic weaving still works in this traditional way. On the table, the warm earth tone creates an evening mood even at lunchtime. There is Scandinavian ease in it, too, along with the substance of 100 per cent washed linen.

Brown flax by the Baltic shore
Geniksa avoids ornament on principle. Its plain, almost purist style comes from a deep fondness for nature. Jungle carries that fondness in its colour, a brown that recalls soil and wood. Pure linen needs no persuasion beyond its appearance and its feel. Behind each tablecloth stands the Masters of Linen label, awarded only after strict testing and only to fabric made entirely in Europe. Likewise, Eco Line and Oeko-Tex Standard 100 attest that the cloth holds no harmful substances and undergoes no chemical treatment. European flax supplies the fibre, while the weaving takes place by the Baltic Sea in a carbon-neutral process.

Description

Jungle, rich brown in heavy linen

Brown lends a dining table warmth and a natural kind of elegance. Jungle uses that effect without overstatement. At 240 g/m², the linen is heavy, so it settles on the tabletop and breaks at the sides into clean, graceful folds. Its yarn, spun to Nm 26, gives the surface a calm regularity. The dense flax fibre keeps dirt at a distance, while the cloth itself washes at up to 60 degrees. A purely mechanical finish gives it a pleasant feel. Natural wood, ceramics and candlelight all sit comfortably on this ground. Placemats, runners and napkins follow the same line within the Geniksa tablecloths collection.

Care

Jungle is coloured linen, so keep the wash at 60 degrees or below; white linen alone tolerates 95. Cooler water buys linen a longer life, just as it does for any other material. Optical brighteners have no business in this wash, because they would bleach the brown and turn the fabric pale. Fill the machine only loosely, so the cloth has space. Spin it neither hard nor long. Then lift it out while some moisture remains, which keeps creasing in check. For a smooth finish, iron hot on the linen setting with the tablecloth still a little damp.
