Pure Silk summer comforter from HEFEL
The Pure Silk summer comforter from HEFEL holds nothing but wild silk. It comes from the oak silk moth, at around 180 grams per square metre. On a warm night it settles over the body with almost no weight at all. Silk manages moisture better than any other natural fibre, so the skin stays cool and dry. Around the wild silk filling lies a cotton fine satin with aloe vera, which gives the comforter its supple sheen.

Silk, quilted in Austria
HEFEL is a family business in Austria. Over several generations the house has learned what a summer comforter needs, and Pure Silk is its answer in pure silk. Nobody makes these pieces in batches. The manufactory finishes each Pure Silk on its own, then checks it before it leaves the house. Its BodyFit body quilting follows the contours of the sleeper, while it also keeps the delicate filling evenly spread across the whole surface. Many of the people who sew and inspect these comforters belong to the second or third generation of their families at HEFEL. Thus a little Austrian bedding craft arrives in the bedroom, quietly, with every Pure Silk.

Description

Pure Silk, a filling of wild silk

Wild silk has a character of its own. On warm nights it cools, and at the same time it regulates moisture, so the bed never turns clammy. The cover plays its part too: it lies kindly on the skin and carries dampness away from the body. Pure Silk therefore feels dry and light, which keeps summer sleep restful. Because the silk has passed dermatological testing, the comforter also suits allergy sufferers. HEFEL builds it for durability, so it can return through many summers. Pure Silk belongs to the HEFEL summer duvet collection, alongside other light fillings for warm nights.

Care

Pure Silk washes at 60 degrees, an easy routine for a comforter of silk. Afterwards, hang it somewhere airy and let it dry in the open air, since it keeps its shape best that way. A small stain rarely calls for a full wash, because spot cleaning usually does the job. Between summers, store the comforter where air can reach it, so the silk stays fresh. With that little attention, Pure Silk brings cool and quiet nights, summer after summer.
