Half-linen – the best of both worlds

Half-linen combines the best of both worlds: the intelligence of linen with the softness of cotton. The linen content balances temperature—cool in summer, warm in winter. The cotton content makes the fabric supple and cosy from day one. Our half-linen fabrics are made of equal parts linen and cotton: 50/50. Not the EU minimum standard of 40 percent, but an honest half-and-half.

The Weaving Mill

Schlitzer Leinen has been weaving in the Hessian town of Schlitz since 1933 – founded in the year of the World’s Fair “A Century of Progress”. Today the last authentic linen weaving mill in town, family-run in its third generation. European flax, German craftsmanship, each fabric roll individually inspected. Masters of Linen quality. Made in Europe, from start to finish.

Care Instructions

Colored linen can be washed up to 60°, white up to 95°. As with all materials: washing at lower temperatures makes it last longer. Avoid detergents with optical brighteners – they bleach out the natural colors. Linen needs sufficient residual moisture to prevent excessive wrinkling. Don’t overfill the machine, don’t spin too vigorously. If you want to iron linen, use the hot temperature setting while it’s still slightly damp. Or: don’t iron at all.
