Description
“Yara half-linen table linen from Leitner Leinen”
Yara – a name of Persian origin that means “courage” and “strength”, but is also reminiscent of the millennia-old ornamentation that conquered the world from Persia. This half-linen design bears the boteh motif, the drop-shaped figure that became known in the West as paisley. Here, however, the boteh appears in a new interpretation: the individual motifs are offset to create a fascinating state of suspension above the ground. The delicately shaded background emphasizes each figure and makes them appear almost three-dimensional. Yara unfolds its full elegance at the table: the design combines oriental tradition with contemporary clarity – neither historicizing nor folkloristic, but of timeless sophistication. It harmonizes with fine porcelain as well as handmade ceramics and lends cosmopolitan charm to any table. The ten shades – from pure white to warm rust red and cool anthracite – allow for a variety of settings: restrained in monochrome arrangements or lively in colorful combinations.
The benefits of half-linen for the table
Half linen is the intelligent combination of two fibers that bring their respective advantages to the table. The pure cotton warp gives the fabric suppleness when draping, while the pure linen weft provides strength and that elegant drape that enhances tables. This combination proves its worth in everyday use: the linen content makes the fabric naturally dirt-repellent – liquids roll off first. At the same time, the fabric regulates moisture without feeling clammy. The cotton significantly reduces the characteristic linen crease and gives the table linen the relaxed drape that characterizes contemporary dining culture. In addition, the improved dyeability of cotton enables the subtle shading of the Yara design, which gives each boteh motif its depth. The protective linen structure increases abrasion resistance – half-linen table linen can withstand frequent washing without losing its beauty.
Manufacturing tradition since 1853
There are crafts that will last for generations due to their timeless significance. The linen weaving mill Leitner has been one of these enduring manufactories since 1853. In Ulrichsberg in Upper Austria, nestled in the rolling hills of the Mühlviertel, fabrics of exceptional quality have been woven for five generations. What began as a regional weaving mill has developed into an internationally recognized manufactory whose collections are presented at the most important textile trade fairs. But despite its worldwide recognition, Leitner has retained its manufactory character: production remains manageable and contact with customers is personal. Custom-made products for special table formats are just as much a part of the company’s identity as expert advice. Every piece leaves the weaving mill with the claim to accompany generations.

Care of your half-linen table linen
Half-linen table linen is easy to care for and becomes smoother over time. Colored linen can withstand up to 60°, white up to 95°. In everyday use, 40-60° is sufficient for perfect cleanliness. Rinse out fresh stains with cold water before washing. Avoid detergents with optical brighteners. The natural creasing gives the table an authentic charm – much more moderate with half-linen than with pure linen. For smoother results: Fill the drum to a maximum of two thirds full, spin at a maximum of 1000 revolutions. Iron at a medium to high temperature with residual moisture. Air drying preserves the fiber quality for decades.
