Cotton mattress topper

100% cotton mattress topper quality check at Linen Lounge

When it comes to restful sleep, it’s not just the mattress and bed linen that play a role, but also other components of the bed. A 100% cotton mattress topper is one such component and the ideal choice for anyone who values natural and comfortable sleep.

A high-quality topper is made from natural material with outstanding properties. The fibres are very good at absorbing moisture released by the body during the night and releasing it back into the ambient air. This prevents a stuffy, damp feeling and prevents overheating. Not only does this make you sleep more comfortably, it also makes it more hygienic, as mites and bacteria are less comfortable in a dry environment.

Three Variants — One Material, Three Quality Levels

Wool Classic: Filling of 100% French sheep’s wool, encased in fine cotton sateen with aloe vera finish. The entry point to Hefel’s wool programme — proven, robust, straightforward.
Bio Wool: Filling of sheep’s wool from certified organic animal husbandry (kbT). Cover of GOTS-certified organic cotton. For anyone who values seamless organic certification even for the mattress topper — matching Vieböck organic linen bedding as a fully organic sleep system.
Pure Wool: Filling of 100% sheep’s wool from free-ranging French sheep. The premium product — wool from animals that move freely has a different fibre structure: more elastic, more voluminous, better temperature-regulating.
All three variants in seven sizes from 90x200 to 200x200 cm.

Why Wool Works on the Mattress

Virgin wool can absorb up to 33% of its own weight in moisture without feeling damp. On the mattress, this means: the perspiration the body releases at night is absorbed by the wool and conducted outward. The surface stays dry. The mattress beneath stays protected.
In winter, wool stores body heat — the insulating effect prevents warmth from escaping downward into the mattress. In summer, wool balances temperature — it absorbs excess heat and releases it slowly. The wool mattress topper is therefore usable year-round, with a tendency toward warmth.
And: dust mites find no breeding ground on virgin wool. The fibre conducts moisture so efficiently that the environment remains too dry for mites. NOMITE-certified.

In the Sleep System — the Warm Side, Plus Care

The wool mattress topper is the warm counterpart to the TENCEL Cool variant. Together they cover the entire spectrum:
Warm system: Wool topper + down duvet from Hefel + linen bed linen as cover. The wool insulates from below, the down from above, the linen regulates moisture in between.
Maximum system: Wool topper + winter duvet in cashmere or camel hair + linen cover + wool pillow from Hefel. Natural fibre throughout, warm throughout.
For couples on split mattresses: a wool topper on the cold side, a cooling topper on the warm side. Individual climate, one bed.
Care: Washable at 40 °C. No fabric softener. Remove once a month and air outdoors — wool regenerates by itself. Do not tumble dry. Do not dry in direct sunlight. Tips at Care & Durability.
