What makes this piece special

Cartouche pure linen from Leitner Leinen combines baroque ornamentation with the cultivated calm of pure linen. The artfully woven jacquard design translates cornucopias, volutes, arabesques and fine putti into a relief-like weave that harmoniously combines ornamental richness and textile elegance. Made from 100% European organic linen in an expressive jacquard weave, Cartouche combines natural breathability, high moisture regulation, anti-static properties and a patina that gains character over time. Available in twelve carefully coordinated shades and woven in a CO₂-neutral way in Austria, Cartouche stands for sustainable quality, textile tradition and bed linen that transfers baroque joie de vivre and timeless sophistication to sleep culture in equal measure.

Cartouche pure linen bed linen from Leitner Leinen

Cartouche – the cartouche, that Baroque ornament that adorned palaces and magnificent residences in the 17th and 18th centuries. Originally conceived as a decorative frame for coats of arms or inscriptions, the cartouche evolved into an independent work of art. Cornucopias proclaim abundance and prosperity, sweeping volutes create movement, arabesques and scrollwork interweave into ornamental profusion. Playful putti – those chubby-cheeked cherubs of Baroque visual language – complement the composition with cheerful lightness. What adorns the ceilings of European staterooms in stucco finds its way here into the textile arts. The Jacquard technique makes it possible to work out every detail in three dimensions – from the finely contoured leaves to the sweeping ribbons. Cartouche transforms your bedroom into a space where decorative mastery meets timeless elegance and every night becomes an encounter with Baroque joie de vivre.

The Leitner Weaving Mill – Manufactory since 1853

Leitner is at home at the leading textile fairs in Paris, Milan and New York. The success is founded on the combination of traditional skill and contemporary design. Here, in Ulrichsberg, Upper Austria, the manufactory has worked for over 170 years on the principle that true quality requires time and care. No anonymous mass production, but manageable structures in which experienced specialists oversee every step of the process. Every design is developed at the drawing board, tested in sample cards, before the first metres run across the looms. With complex patterns like Cartouche, the mastery truly shows: every ornamental detail, every sweeping line must be perfectly woven for the Baroque abundance to achieve its full effect. No short-lived trends are produced here, but collections with lasting power. As a manufactory, Leitner can respond individually to wishes: custom sizes for exceptional beds are feasible, personal advice a matter of course. Every duvet cover, every pillowcase is crafted with the awareness that true quality should endure – for decades to come.

Description

“Cartouche pure linen bed linen from Leitner Leinen”

Cartouche – the Baroque ornament that adorned palaces and magnificent residences in the 17th and 18th centuries. Originally conceived as a decorative frame for coats of arms or inscriptions, the cartouche developed into a work of art in its own right. Horns of plenty proclaim abundance and prosperity, curved volutes create movement, arabesques and tendrils interweave to create ornamental opulence. Playful putti – those chubby-cheeked angels of baroque imagery – complement the composition with cheerful lightness. What adorns the ceilings of European state rooms in stucco finds its way into textile art here. The jacquard technique makes it possible to bring out every detail vividly – from the finely contoured leaves to the sweeping ribbons. Cartouche transforms your bedroom into a room where decorative mastery meets timeless elegance and every night becomes an encounter with baroque joie de vivre.

The benefits of European organic linen

When it comes to fine bed linen, linen has always stood for the highest standards of comfort and quality. The natural fiber made from European flax combines remarkable properties for restful sleep. On warm summer nights, linen has a cooling and airy effect, while on cool winter nights it creates pleasant warmth – a natural temperature regulation that is based on the unique fiber structure. The hollow linen fibers form microscopic air chambers that absorb and release moisture without the fabric feeling clammy. This breathability ensures a balanced sleeping climate all year round. Linen is also naturally antistatic and skin-friendly – ideal for sensitive skin. The fiber becomes smoother with every wash without losing its characteristic structure. At the same time, linen remains amazingly resistant and durable. Leitner only uses organic linen from certified European cultivation, mechanically treated for natural softness, free from chemical additives – pure quality for generations.

Leitner is at home at the leading textile trade fairs in Paris, Milan and New York. Its success is based on the combination of traditional skills and contemporary design. Here, in Ulrichsberg, Upper Austria, the manufactory has been working for over 170 years according to the principle that true quality takes time and care. No anonymous mass production, but manageable structures in which experienced specialists watch over every step of the process. Each design is developed on the drawing board and tested in sample cards before the first meters run over the looms. The mastery is particularly evident in complex patterns such as cartouche: every ornamental detail, every curved line must be woven perfectly for the baroque fullness to unfold its effect. No short-lived trends are produced here, but collections that last. As a manufactory, Leitner can respond to individual wishes: Special sizes for unusual beds can be realized and personal advice is a matter of course. Caring for your linen bedding

Linen bed linen is easy to care for and becomes softer with every wash. Colored linen can withstand temperatures up to 60°, white bed linen up to 95°. In daily use, 40-60° is completely sufficient for perfect hygiene. Important: Do not use detergents with optical brighteners – these can impair the natural color depth of the linen. The characteristic slight creasing of linen is an expression of its naturalness and is part of the authentic material. For smoother results: Do not overfill the washing machine, limit the spin cycle to 800-1000 revolutions. If desired, you can iron at the highest ironing setting, ideally with slight residual moisture. Do not use a tumble dryer: air drying is gentler, preserves the fiber quality and considerably extends the life of your bed linen.
