Hudson Cinnamon linen coverlet and cushion from Libeco
The Hudson Cinnamon linen coverlet wears its stonewash look openly. You can see the finish, and you can feel it under your hand. Libeco’s designer wanted a strong collection with a contemporary surface, and Hudson became exactly that. Cinnamon is its warmest shade, an earthy colour that brings warmth to a room at once. It sits well beside wood, terracotta and natural stone. Yet the coverlet never insists. It lies across the bed like something that has always been there.

Where the stonewash finish begins
Hudson comes from Libeco’s mill in Flanders, a house that has woven linen since 1858. Its weavers stonewash every Hudson piece, which gives the cloth its relaxed texture and makes it shrink-resistant. Libeco shaped all eight Hudson colours so that they combine with the collections it already offers, cinnamon included. In 2006 the Belgian royal house recognised this care with the Royal Warrant. Hudson also carries OEKO-TEX certification. In addition, the Masters of Linen label confirms production in Europe alone, while the weaving itself runs CO₂-neutral.

Description

Cinnamon, a stonewashed linen coverlet

Hudson is 100 per cent linen in a heavy quality of 460 g/m², woven in plain weave from Nm 58 yarn. Because linen balances temperature, the coverlet cools on summer nights and serves as a warming layer when nights turn cold. Its long fibres take up moisture and shed dirt, so the cloth stays fresh. From the first use, the stonewash look softens its hand. The cinnamon tone lends a bed or sofa warmth, especially next to wooden furniture. Flax and Oyster, two quieter Hudson shades, pair with it easily. More pieces in this spirit belong to the Libeco coverlets and pillowcase range.

Care

Hudson Cinnamon is happy at 60 degrees, the limit for coloured linen, while white Hudson pieces may go up to 95. Washing cooler still extends its life. Optical brighteners do lasting harm, because they bleach natural colours and leave the cloth pale. So choose a mild detergent without them. Fill the machine only partly and spin with restraint. Some residual moisture keeps creases small. For ironing, the hot linen setting works best on a slightly damp coverlet. Finally, skip the tumble dryer, as overdrying may shrink the linen.
