Juniper weighs 610 grams per square metre, a heavy quality that drapes with intent. Seventy per cent of it is linen, the rest washed wool, and that ratio explains the character of the cloth. Linen keeps it cool to the touch and sheds everyday dust, while wool brings volume and a slow, enduring warmth. The plain linen weave lets the spruce green stripes sit clearly on the ground. From across the room, the throw reads as one deep colour. Close up, however, the stripes separate again. The matching bag also protects the throw when it travels or rests in a cupboard. Care

Juniper carries its own instructions on the label sewn into the hem, and those instructions come first in all matters of care. Wool shares the weave with linen here, which is why cool water and an unhurried hand make the most sense. In addition, a detergent free of optical brighteners protects the deep green and brown, because brighteners tend to drain natural colour. Avoid crowding the throw, and resist the dryer. Instead, spread it out flat and let the air do its slow work. That way the cloth keeps both its shape and its smoky depth.
