Description

“Marrakesh Linen-Wool Mix by Libeco”

The Marrakesh Linen-Wool Mix by Libeco brings a hint of cinnamon and mint – the Orient comes to visit. The designer says: “Marrakesh is the linen-wool combination that has become the signature design of the Libeco Home collection. The fabric feels full and richly textured, woven from 70% linen and 30% wool. These collections found their inspiration in the typical Moroccan blankets found at local markets. We create asymmetric stripes on a solid ground. Marrakesh features black stripes on a cream-coloured ground. The two different stripe variations return on the front of the cushion covers. The backs are solid, finished with a linen trim in herringbone pattern in Black and Flax and a zip.”
“This collection also had a long preparation time. A few years ago we developed the Moroccan collection and have since received repeated requests for a throw … here it is! Marrakesh is a somewhat denser construction, similar to Manitoba and Juniper, but the stripes are distributed in exactly the same way as with Moroccan.”

European Organic Linen

Linen bed linen lets your skin breathe better. When it comes to our skin, linen is the perfect fabric. Thanks to its long, smooth fibres, linen absorbs a great deal of moisture and repels dirt. Linen is an intelligent fabric because it regulates temperature. Linen provides pleasant coolness in summer and cosy warmth in winter. The long linen fibres ensure that linen bed linen stays fresh much longer. The linen fabric has been treated purely mechanically, making it very supple and kind to the skin. Linen treated in this way creases less while preserving its natural quality and all the advantages of linen. Libeco is committed to organic linen and uncompromising sustainability in every step of production, and the creation of GOTS-certified linen bed linen in the Heritage collection was a logical next step.

The Weaving Mill

Libeco received the accolade of the Belgian Royal House in 2006: “Belgian Royal Warrant Holder” is the impressive recognition of the quality of these textiles. The “Belgian Linen” quality seal guarantees a quality product made according to the highest standards of sustainable business. All fabrics by Libeco carry the coveted “Masters of Linen” label. This guarantees that the fabrics have been tested to the extremely high requirements of this master class and that they are produced exclusively in Europe. “Eco Line” and “Oeko-Tex” provide the assurance that Libeco fabrics are free from harmful substances and have not been treated with chemicals, bleached or dyed.

As a sheet we recommend the fine linen sheets and fitted sheets Heritage by Libeco.

Care

Coloured linen can be washed at up to 60°C, white linen at up to 95°C. As with all materials, the same applies to linen: washing at lower temperatures extends its life. Linen does not tolerate detergents with optical brighteners, as they strongly bleach the natural colours and the fabric becomes pale. Creasing: linen needs sufficient residual moisture to prevent excessive creasing. Do not overload the machine so the fabric can move freely, and do not spin linen too hard or too long. If you wish to iron linen, iron the pieces on the hot linen setting of your iron while they are still slightly damp. Even if it is convenient, avoid tumble-drying linen. Over-drying can cause shrinkage.
