Marrakesh, asymmetric stripes on cream

Seventy per cent linen and thirty per cent wool make up Marrakesh, at 605 grams per square metre. Its yarn of Nm 28 is coarser than that of the coverlets, so the plain weave gains texture and volume. Linen keeps the throw cool on warmer days, while wool takes over when evenings turn cold. Each cushion front picks up one of the two stripe variations. On the back, a herringbone trim of linen in Black and Flax runs beside the zip. Over time the washed cloth softens without losing its weight. Marrakesh belongs to the throws by Libeco, as the compact sister of Moroccan Stripe.

Care

Begin with the care label sewn into Marrakesh, since it holds the instructions that matter most. Then turn to the detergent: one without optical brighteners keeps black and cream distinct, because brighteners bleach natural colours. With wool in the weave, a cool, gentle programme makes sense and prolongs the life of the throw. Handle it lightly afterwards, smoothing rather than wringing. Finally, let it dry naturally and flat, away from the dryer.
