Description

“Nash Linen-Wool Mix by Libeco”

The Nash Linen-Wool Mix by Libeco grew from an old industrial design at La Brugeoise. The designer says: “La Brugeoise has existed since 1818 and retains its original pre-war grandeur. La Brugeoise was originally the largest ironworks in Belgium and later one of the most important international producers of railway carriages and track materials. The site is no longer used as a production facility, but you will get an impression of what this gem once was. This collection of decorative linen-wool bedspreads is a continuation of the popular Moroccan and Lincoln Stripe collections. It was named after the Nash two-cylinder petrol engine used in the early 1920s.”

“This collection can be combined with Heritage, Santiago, Ingersoll, Oscar and Foundry. As is customary with the decorative linen-wool bedspreads, there is a seam in the centre and in this case the stripes match. The Arabica stripes form the lower two-thirds of the bedspread and the Beeswax and Bone the upper third, with the Beeswax returning in the centre of the Arabica and Bone stripes.”

European Organic Linen

Linen bed linen lets your skin breathe better. When it comes to our skin, linen is the perfect fabric. Thanks to its long, smooth fibres, linen absorbs a great deal of moisture and repels dirt. Linen is an intelligent fabric because it regulates temperature. Linen provides pleasant coolness in summer and cosy warmth in winter. The long linen fibres ensure that linen bed linen stays fresh much longer. The linen fabric has been treated purely mechanically, making it very supple and kind to the skin. Linen treated in this way creases less while preserving its natural quality and all the advantages of linen. Libeco is committed to organic linen and uncompromising sustainability in every step of production, and the creation of GOTS-certified linen bed linen in the Heritage collection was a logical next step.

The Weaving Mill

Libeco received the accolade of the Belgian Royal House in 2006: “Belgian Royal Warrant Holder” is the impressive recognition of the quality of these textiles. The “Belgian Linen” quality seal guarantees a quality product made according to the highest standards of sustainable business. All fabrics by Libeco carry the coveted “Masters of Linen” label. This guarantees that the fabrics have been tested to the extremely high requirements of this master class and that they are produced exclusively in Europe. “Eco Line” and “Oeko-Tex” provide the assurance that Libeco fabrics are free from harmful substances and have not been treated with chemicals, bleached or dyed.

As a sheet we recommend the fine linen sheets and fitted sheets Heritage by Libeco.

Care

Coloured linen can be washed at up to 60°C, white linen at up to 95°C. As with all materials, the same applies to linen: washing at lower temperatures extends its life. Linen does not tolerate detergents with optical brighteners, as they strongly bleach the natural colours and the fabric becomes pale. Creasing: linen needs sufficient residual moisture to prevent excessive creasing. Do not overload the machine so the fabric can move freely, and do not spin linen too hard or too long. If you wish to iron linen, iron the pieces on the hot linen setting of your iron while they are still slightly damp. Even if it is convenient, avoid tumble-drying linen. Over-drying can cause shrinkage.
