What makes this piece special

Versailles by Leitner Leinen combines baroque perfection with the cultivated calm of pure linen. The artfully woven jacquard design translates volutes, acanthus leaves and geometric ornaments from the Palace of Versailles into a relief-like weave that harmoniously combines austere architecture and textile softness. Made from 100% European organic linen in a masterful jacquard weave, Versailles combines prestigious aesthetics with the natural benefits of linen fibers: a smooth surface, high absorbency, antistatic properties and a patina that gains character over time. Available in nine carefully coordinated colors and woven in Austria, Versailles stands for sustainable quality, textile tradition and a table design that harmoniously combines baroque elegance and understated presence.

Versailles pure linen bed linen from Leitner Leinen

Versailles – a name that evokes the splendour of the French royal court, the radiance of the Sun King era and the perfection of Baroque art de vivre. This bed linen translates courtly grandeur into textile form: lavish ornaments, symmetrically composed according to the rules of classical garden design, with the precision of royal representation. Sweeping volutes and acanthus leaves merge into a total work of art that breathes the spirit of Versailles. Every element falls into strict symmetry, like the perfectly laid-out gardens of André Le Nôtre, while unfolding an abundance of detail. The design oscillates between ceremonial severity and playful opulence – like life at court, where etiquette and aesthetics were inseparably interwoven. The nine exquisite colour shades – from regal white through delicate sakura to deep anthracite – transform any bedroom into a royal chamber, where night after night you experience true craftsmanship.

The Manufactory in the Mühlviertel

High up in the Austrian Mühlviertel, in the small town of Ulrichsberg on the edge of the Böhmerwald, the Leitner family has been weaving towards the perfection of their craft since 1853. What began as a regional linen weaving mill has developed over five generations into a manufactory that creates a stir at the world’s most prestigious textile fairs. The secret lies in the combination of traditional skill and contemporary ambition. While mass-produced goods roll off assembly lines elsewhere, at Leitner bed linen collections are created under the watchful eye of experienced specialists who oversee every detail. The manageable scale enables flexibility: custom sizes for exceptional bed dimensions are as much a matter of course as individual advice. Every duvet cover, every pillowcase bears the hallmark of a production that is built to last. Leitner creates bed linen with the aspiration to endure for generations.

The benefits of European organic linen

For centuries, linen has been the first choice of discerning people when it comes to bed linen. The material has a unique ability to regulate temperature: it has a cooling effect on warm summer nights and a warming effect on cool winter nights. Linen owes this natural intelligence to its fiber structure – the long, smooth fibers create microscopically small air chambers that ensure optimum moisture balance. Linen can absorb up to 35 percent of its own weight in moisture without feeling clammy. The natural smoothness of linen fibers makes the material exceptionally skin-friendly. Linen becomes softer and more supple with every wash, without losing any of its stability. The robustness of the fibers guarantees that you will enjoy your bed linen for many years. Leitner only uses organic linen from European cultivation – a promise to the environment and quality.

The manufactory in the Mühlviertel

High up in the Austrian Mühlviertel region, in the small village of Ulrichsberg on the edge of the Bohemian Forest, the Leitner have been perfecting their craft since 1853. What began as a regional linen weaving mill has developed over five generations into a manufactory that causes a stir at the world’s most important textile fairs. The secret lies in the combination of traditional skills and contemporary standards. While elsewhere mass-produced goods roll off the assembly line, Leitner bed linen collections are created by experienced experts who watch over every detail. The manageable size allows for flexibility: special sizes for unusual bed dimensions are just as much a matter of course as individual advice. Each comforter cover and pillowcase bears the signature of a production process that focuses on durability. Leitner creates bed linen that is designed to last for generations.

Linen bed linen care

Linen bed linen is uncomplicated and develops an even more pleasant softness with every wash. Colored linen can be washed at up to 60° without any problems, white bed linen can even withstand 95°. For everyday use, 40-60° is completely sufficient. Important: Do not use detergents with optical brighteners, as these will strip the linen of its natural color brilliance. The characteristic creasing of linen is part of its natural beauty and emphasizes the authenticity of the material. For a smoother appearance, we recommend not overloading the machine and selecting a moderate spin speed of no more than 1000 revolutions. Ironing is optional – if desired, on the highest setting while the laundry is still slightly damp. We do not recommend tumble drying: air drying is gentler, preserves the fiber quality optimally and extends the life of your precious bed linen by many years.
