The Largest Size — for Which Beds?

Cotton bed linen 220x240 is designed for king size beds from 180 cm wide. The duvet overhangs 20 cm on each side and a generous 40 cm at the foot end — enough fabric for two people who move during the night.
Compared to 200x220: 220x240 offers significantly more room at the foot end. Peter Reed’s 1000tc satin in white over a king size bed — the fabric falls heavy and smooth over the edges, with the subtle sheen that only sateen weave creates.
Alternatively, two 155x220 as a pair set on a 180 cm bed — individual sleep climate per person.

Grand hotel (layered): Two pillowcases 80x80 propped behind, two 40x80 lying in front — four pillows across 180 cm create the full hotel depth. Fitted sheet 180x200. Percale in white.
Modern (reduced): Four pillowcases 40x80 in a row — a horizontal line emphasising the width of the bed. Slim, Scandinavian. In beige or ivory.
Satin statement: Two 80x80 pillows, 1000tc satin in white. No bedspread needed — the sheen of the satin is the statement. The bed speaks for itself.
In linen: linen bed linen 220x240 — cooler, lighter at this fabric volume. At king size, professional laundering is worth considering — the fabric volume is borderline for household machines. Care at Care & Durability. Further sizes: 135x200, 155x220, 200x200, 200x220. All cotton bed linen.

Cotton or linen in king size?

Cotton (Peter Reed): Smooth and lustrous in satin, fresh and matt in percale. The highest thread count in the range (up to 1000tc). For that luxurious hotel look.

Linen 220x240: Cooler, textured, more durable. Relevant for king-size duvets: linen is lighter than tightly woven cotton — less weight on the body for the same amount of fabric.
